Q: Now that I have sold my WIN shares, I would caution your readers, and Helen in particular, that it is possible that the major shareholders could take this company private, using its own cash, and be laughing all the way to the proverbial bank.
Q: Telus today reported a 10% increase in its dividend, but I think it meant 10% for all 2015 including the previously announced 5% dividend increase from Spring 2015 of 2 cents from 40 to 42 cents. If my understanding is correct, then the Telus dividend increase is overstated and Telus is guilty of taking credit twice for the same positive news. Full disclosure - I have a full position in Telus and am well satisfied. Can you provide a general comment on companies taking credit for the same news more than once. If so, the politicians have competition.
Q: What are your recommendations going forward on Com Dev.--Sell or hold
"COM DEV shareholders to receive up to $5.25 in cash plus 0.1977 of a share of exactEarth Ltd., for an aggregate implied transaction value of up to $6.54 for each COM DEV share"
Q: I have had a very steep roller coaster ride (mostly down) with NHC and am currently out of it. Having just watched the interview on BNN with the CEO Chris Llyod and the announcement of the $300 M lawsuit, I am considering taking a position in NHC yet again. Do you see any merit in the lawsuit; and if you watched the interview or read reports of the NHC response: would any of this provide you with sufficient reason to buy the stock. Thanks.
Q: Hello. NAL's Q3 report sets a target: "Despite the low oil price environment, we will target to be Free Cash Flow neutral commencing in 2016 and positive thereafter." Given NAL's cost cutting and 50% dividend reduction, do you see NAL meeting the target of 'Cash Flow neutral' in 2016 and maintaining their lower dividend? In effect, can NAL can offer existing customers and potential customers value with oil prices in the $45 to $50 range? Is it possible to predict a very rough range for the price of Oil over the next 12 months? Buy / Hold / Sell ? Thanks so much for this fantastic service.
Q: Hi 5i - considering making a switch from WIN to QCOM (which now pays a yield of 3.8% after a big drop today)? Im looking for long term yield and some growth. Does this make sense? Thanks!
Q: The recent events at WIN and even AVO (stock price drops despite strong earnings) has me fed up and inclined to do a portfolio clean-up of all my dogs. I am holding and down big time with WIN, QST, BDI, AVO & BAD. I am otherwise pretty well diversified and am already holding cash as well so I don’t necessarily need the proceeds to invest in something else. However, calling any stock a dog is of course extremely relative. I call them dogs because of the heavy losses I’ve incurred, but if I bought them today maybe I’d look at them as having good potential! In what order would you be dumping these names today for someone who is just plain tired of watching them drop? Do you regard any as having good short term (1 year) bounce potential? I am always hesitant when it comes to selling a big looser because I always think that I will be letting go at the bottom (and usually end up just staying along for the ride further down). Thanks.
Q: In light of what is happening to Magna and Linimar today how do you think Exco will be affected and can you tell me when they report 3rd quarter earnings. Thanks
