Q: Hi Peter, could you please comment on today's news release.
It would seem to me that CE Mining (Brad Mills/Mark Sander) sees potential in the SMP deposit and this is re-enforced by the fact that they exercised 6,140,000 share purchase warrants at 5 cents even though the market bid price was 2.5 cents (a 100% premium).

Q: I would like to add a small cap health care company to complement my large cap US healthcare holdings ABBV and JNJ. The current portfolio allocation in healthcare is 8%. This is is comprised of the above companies plus sector contributions from VIG, IWO, SPY, and FEZ. I am considering GUD or CPH, and would appreciate any comments on this move (does this make sense, which one would you choose, etc). Thanks very much.

Q: Hi 51 team
Is there any reason for Delta to have slid about 17% since Jan. I'm down that much, and would like your opinion if it's worth keeping or just move on. Thanks and good work.

Q: I received notice that Blackrock is terminating the XLA ETF. I'm under water on this one, but always thought of it as geographic diversification with a long term view. I'm wondering why they would terminate the fund and if I'm better off selling or waiting for liquidation in August. Finally, could you recommend a few reasonable replacements (hedged or un-hedged). Thanks. I love the service you that you guys offer.

Q: I had a bond get called in the fixed income part of the portfolio. I'm looking at Great Canadian Gaming July 2022 6.625% bond. The bond is callable in July 2017. Do you think the consent solicitation earlier this year is a sign they will call the bond early?
I know your not really into bonds, in your opinion would it be a better idea to consider giving up some yield to possibly get some capital gains in one of these 2 convertible bonds:
Element Financial Jun 2020, YTM is only 2.3%, but its convertible 22% higher than todays equity price.
DH Corporation Sep 2020, YTM is only 3.5%, but its convertible 30% higher than todays equity price.

Q: Magna got hit hard today, while Exco did not. Do you think this might be because Magna is exposed to China, and to some extent Greece, while Exco is a local Canadian company with no overseas assets? Might we see continuing falls in Magna?

Q: I own shares in Stone Point Energy, which just received a takeout offer from Endurance Energy, a privately held firm, for .078125/share. The stock is currently trading beneath this amount, so in order to receive the takeout price do I just hold it until the deal closes and then expect an offer from Endurance? Thanks as always.

Q: Bill Gross recently recommended shorting ASHR @ $54. He was dead on. He also said the Chinese stock market crash will trigger a global crisis. How good is his track record and do you agree. Should we head for the hills? Thank you.

Q: Am doing a tiny bit of portfolio rebalancing. What would be your best name, to buy today, for growth and dividend, in Consumer Defensive, other than Alimentation Couche-Tard?

In terms of asset allocation overall, I see that the TMX rates BAM.A as Real Estate, and yet I'm sure you've noted in this Q & A section that you would classify it under Financials. (Did I dream this, because I can't find the answer anywhere?) If it's listed under financials, which presently sits at 10.88%, by adding BAM under this sector, would move me to 18.1% in financials. Overall, I'm quite happy with these allocations, but was wondering if I should add anything to Real Esate -- or does BAM.A act as a good cross over for both.

Please feel free to deduct two questions, as they are separate equities -- but it just seemed silly to send in two different questions.

Thanks, as always, for your advice.

Q: Good morning Peter & all.
What is your take on Mogo Finance Technology Inc (GO).
It has not stopped declining ever since its IPO late last month... Where do you see it bottoming?
Is the decline company specific or related to the greater issues in the market?
Thank you.

Q: GUD
I am impressed with the moves this company is making.I have a small position and am thinking of buying more. It looks good on potential, execution, market knowledge, industry savvy and connections.I am hesitant because of the fact that Mr. Goodman is such a dominant force in the company and what would happen should he be unable to contribution due to the unexpected.
Questions:
1.am I right to be careful
2.does he have a team that could manage with out him being involved.
your advice is appreciated.
thanks

Q: Looking to buy as a long term hold for income. Is the distribution sustainable and is there value in this REIT for a long term income investor. Share price keeps dropping even after a merger that makes the company stronger. Don't understand why shareholders are heading for the door? Are there management issues here or something I am not seeing. Looks like a good value/income play? Your thoughts on this stock would be appreciated.

Q: Hi team,
With the recent strength in the U.S. dollar and the volatility due to the Greek situation, would this present a good buying opportunity to accumulate this stock? The company seems to be doing everything right,is well managed has a solid balance sheet and will be producing 40% more gold this fall or early 2016?
I am looking at holding for another two to three years.
Thank you.
