Q: With the current sell off both of these seem to be attractive. What are your thoughts on taking a position immediately and which one would you choose. Thanks

Q: Would you please provide your favourite 5-10 health care stocks? I have US dollars so that would be my preferable currency but can certainly convert some to CAD. Would you also list them in risk order with the least risky first? ETFs are fine as well. Thank you.

Q: I own shares in Strad Energy Services. As you know Total Energy was in the process of making a takeover bid for their shares at $2.90 per share with 35 day expiry date. Strad in turn adopted a poison pill making any bid open for 120 days. Total Energy then said that they will not pursue a takeover bid. Based on your experience do you think there is a high likelihood that another bid may be coming? Is a 35 day expiry date reasonable? Was 120 days excessive? What would you recommend doing at this time?

Q: What are your feeling regarding POT's debt levels and any other "survival" metrics. I have no issue holding it thru volatility with this dividend, I
just want to feel comfortable that it will make it to the other side of the storm. What grade would you give it?

Q: I currently own CNQ with an approx -30% unrealized loss. Was wondering about realizing that loss and simply keeping my energy exposure (only 1 name) by using sale proceeds to buy Suncor. Would you recommend this switch? The goal is to participate in energy sector (only 5% weight) with an added benefit of realizing a tax loss. But if best way to earn my money back in via another blue chipper energy name then that's ok to do as well. But if they are likely to move lock step then why not take the tax loss (rhetorical!!)?
Many thanks as always!

Q: I'm now in the process of identifying my positions as income, balanced or growth and then tracking these three groups, in addition to the whole portfolio. For Boyd, I think it would be earmarked 'balanced' and so would Stantec, rather than 'income' without getting into the reasons for this. How do you see it?......thanks, again.........tom

Q: Hi 5i Team.
I currently have a family RESP started 5yrs ago for my 2 1/2 and 5 year old. I am maximizing annual contributions and expect the government top up also, so will add $6,000 per year. The funds will not be needed for 12- 15 years and I am willing to weather some volatility. Currently I have the following stocks in the portfolio BNS,BCE,CU,DHX.B,EMA,ENB,XTC,FTS,GEI,L,PPL,BIN,RY,TCK.B,T,TD. They are anywhere from 3-10% weighting. What stocks would you suggest adding to this portfolio?
Thanks
