Q: Hi 5i From what I have read Boston Pizza and Mr. Lube are both owned by T&M group of companies. Since DIV now has acquired mr. lube trademark/royalty, is there any reason why div could not also acquire bpf.un. And if so do u think this would be a good fit?
Thx

Q: What do you think about National Bank deal a bank rising capital through common shares for capital requirement are they in any trouble?
Read Answer Asked by OSCAR on October 02, 2015
Q: How much would National Bank have to fall for you to consider it an overreaction to the Oct 1 news?

Knocking off 19 cents for the restructuring charge and taking off a little more for the dilution still has the shares trading below 10x earnings. Also, the Maple Financial Group, as ugly as those headlines are, only represents less than 1% of net income. Is the news as bad as it initially appears?

Your insights would be appreciated.

Q: It was noted in many articles that the DGE in New Jersey conducted a very thorough investigation of the Pokerstars acquisition prior to the approval being made:

http://www.pocketfives.com/articles/new-jersey-dge-doing-comprehensive-review-amaya-s-pokerstars-purchase-591396/

I would think this would alleviate most concerns regarding the AMF investigation. The DGE was also able to complete it on a timely basis; how long do you think AMF can drag this out before reaching their own conclusion?

Q: What is your opinion of this etf for ex-Canada diversified exposure? I hold in a registered account and plan to add to it periodically. Is there a different etf you would view as better?
I prefer not to get into sector etf's for this account.

Thx

Q: Greetings: Would the NJ gaming commission's review have included any investigation into the insider trading issue: the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement found Amaya’s PokerStars brand to be under "strong, ethical and trusted ownership and management" ... Do the words trusted and ethical ownership and management only apply to past business practices, apart from any illegal stock trading allegations? Thank you.

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

I am interesting in building a diversified portfolio and am looking to invest using your balanced equity portfolio as a foundation. I like the idea of owning 20 to 25 good, quality names and am thinking to eventually build up to a point where I have a similar allocation breakdown as your model portfolio (balanced equity), with maybe a bit in growth eventually as well. I noticed that AYA has gone up a lot today on the news release. Is this a good time to take a position in that, or are there a handful or so of other names that you would recommend getting into at this time to start building up my portfolio?

Also, would it be best to purchase a 5% equal stake into each name - as per the portfolio section of your website - or closer to the allocated amount in your pdf report section?

Thanks for your time!

Q: Follow-up question re. yesterday's 8 cent drop on high volume. I noticed volume picked up around noon yesterday and the price started dropping. Lots of different brokers on the sell side. The really big volume trades occurred much later in the afternoon and at much lower prices. It almost looks like the traders and computer programs detected a large SELL order from say a mutual fund (for quarter-end window dressing??).
If this is true, how do the other brokers/traders "smell" this out and front-run the large sell trade?? I'm assuming that any quarterly reports reflect the mutual fund's trade date position (ie. not settlement date).
Please help me out in understanding what took place yesterday. Thxs, Ralph.
