Q: Hi, eSP came out with amazing earnings but it fell thirty seven percent this morning. What am I missing here? The numbers looked fantastic. Should I just sell and take the loss?

Q: Re your comment to Murray on tax loss selling bargains. Seems like PLI made a significant move following FDA approval of one of its research streams yesterday. IT and AVO have made significant moves off their respective lows recently on no news that I see. Could this be the end of their tax loss selling season, isn't it a bit early? When would you normally look for these 'bargains'? Is this a reasonable strategy to pursue?
Thanks again Peter

Q: Your comments on their 3rd quarter results please. Looks like they continue to forge ahead. I have most of the balanced portfolio with full positions, and half of the growth at 3% positions or less for a total of 60% per your suggestion. Re your philosophy of adding to a winning position, and considering Kinaxis performance to date would you bring it up to a full position.
Thanks Peter

Q: Not really a question, more a reminisce and comment on the shorts.I recall years ago a short attack on Fairfax Financial, I think it came shortly after they listed in the U.S. The stock was driven down into the $70 dollar range. The innuendo was that Fairfax management was using off-shore companies in a less than kosher way. I just looked at my FFH this morning and it is at $650, high earlier this year $739.
Best defense against shorts (the mudslinging variety) is to know the company and have faith in your investment analysis and the management (and of course one particularly un-conflicted investment web site).
Many thanks to the 5i staff.

Q: Hello 5i, Can I please get your views on this shipping company. I came across this company when researching oil shipping companies and then noticed Zaks research had a few upgrades, then the ceo was on BNN today. Their fleet of ships is increasing, their eps seems to be growing as is their dividend. I cannot decipher their book value or their debt levels. thanks

Q: Peter, my two real estate companies in my portfolio are CIG and FSV and I want to rebalance down to 10 or 12%. I have read your recent comments about these companies and would like your opinion as to what two or three real estate companies you would use in a balanced portfolio. I am thinking of selling both and buying some stocks with more upside.

Thanks, Stephen

Q: Hi team, I recently sold MCD (in an RRSP) after the run up, and am looking to redeploy cash into a blue chip healthcare or pharma stock in the US. I'm looking for reliable dividends with capital appreciation, and planning to hold for three plus years. MRK and PFE are looking like good candidates, do you have any favourite blue chip healthcare stocks that you think would be a better fit?
Thanks, Alex
