Q: Hi Peter and Co.,

Is there a chance that CXI's bank licence application isn't approved? With the stock price down 38% or so in the past few months, the market seems to be suggesting that this is a possibility. Or is the price weakness suggesting that the next quarter or two will be weak? Or is this just general market weakness combined with CXI being a thin trader?

Your thoughts are appreciated,

Michael

Q: I bought Russell a while back and am under water on that one . I notice Tree Island popped today , and I am wondering if that is a good industrial play - or is the Chinese cloud still a big issue ... what would have made it pop 5-6% today ?

Q: currency exchange , you keep saying it is one of your top picks for growth along with knight and a few others, yet it just keeps trending lower, i get it that it is thinly traded, mostly retail investors throwing in the towel and the bank license approval taking longer than expected-- i am running out of gas on this one, reminds me of avigilon . what is your call. dave

Q: Hi,
I'm thinking of adding a consumer staple. Empire has come down somewhat, but would you prefer Metro or George Weston. I'm a very long term investor.

Q: There has been considerable turmoil in PHM stock price in the last week or so.

Looking back, we see the signs of momentum reversing from those that pushed it higher and now the same crowd walking away from it. People are voting with their feet mainly from fear and from people taken the advice from the President's Letter.

I had a specific question about PHM. They mentioned that the LOIs on the acquisition table are being actively negotiated to be 'all-cash deals'. How successful can these with the incentive for part or in whole stock-based details off the table now?

Q: Good morning, just a clarification to your answer from Imtiaz. Your statement "We have seen a recent President's Letter report on the company, and it basically was throwing in the towel" insinuates that management is "giving up". Is this apparent from the letter? Will you keep it in the portfolio for now? Thanks very much.

Q: hello 5i:
please give me your two best companies, in the Industrial sector. I'm looking for something with a dividend of >2.5% (but realize I might have to settle for less), with a stable and growing cash flow, trading at or below its long term value metrics (P/B, P/S, P/CF, D/E etc). The companies should have a dividend history of at least 5 years, though longer is better. I'd prefer to keep it to a Canadian company, though it seems a large percentage of US Industrials are trading at low valuations, so would at least be open to one for a suggestion. I know these are fairly tough criteria after a bull market run that approaches 7 years. can you help?

Q: I own 600 shares of GE. What would you do with your GE shares? Just keep them convert some or all to synchrony financial shares. I am inclined to just keep my GE shares but admit I don't really understand the process.

Q: Hi Peter & team, What do you think of AYA pulling out of Nevada? How come they were operating BEFORE getting approval from Nevada Gaming Control Board? Or this is a change of heart of the GCB? Is this news worrisome?
Thank you.

"Amaya Inc., owner of the StarsDraft fantasy sports business, pulled out of Nevada after that state’s casino regulators said companies running such contests were illegal gambling operations unless licensed."

“As a proponent of state regulation of daily fantasy sports, we respect the decision of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and no longer allow Nevada consumers to play for real money on StarsDraft,” Amaya said. “We are an advocate for strict state regulation of DFS and the recent activities at some companies underscore the need for state regulation.”

Q: Hi,

Some of the selling in PHM is being prompted by analysts who were earlier recommending it and now backing away from it. Also, the company has revised 2015 annual run rate to 155M from 200M in their updated investor presentation. I think this has to do with their low share price making it difficult to finance new deals. What do you think?
