Q: I won’t be able to attend Chris White’s webinar on Sept 26 due to work obligations. Is it possible to record this webinar for those that can’t attend?
Thanks
Q: hi,
looking through the 5i model income portfolio, these entities are all down in share price. for an investor looking for income and growth (both capital appreciation and dividend growth to keep up with inflation over long term ), are all these a buy today? any a sell? any others in the income portfolio you are more interested in today?
cheers, chris
As per your write up in the Q&A's you were not impressed with DND's latest report.
The market was not impressed with DND's latest report (down appr. 30%)
Why ten would a 5 star analyst with CIBC, Sephanie Price with a 59% success rate ever rank DND a strong buy over the next year with her raising the target from $25 to $28?
You may not/ probably not know her but what do you think she knows that the rest of us don't? Just asking as she is such a well reputed analyst.
Q: What is the reason for the sharp drop in price,on above average volume?I can not find any recent news which might explain this but it seems someone knows something as indicated by the volume.
What are your thoughts on this company now...Buy/Hold/Sell?
Q: I am looking at individual bonds from an investment perspective. Bank bonds for example have excellent credit ratings but still have great yields.
So: as an individual investor I don’t mind preparing to carry these to maturity given the yields. But I am also interested to know: if their value goes up in the future, how difficult is it to sell individual bonds at their market value and does it simply replicate the process of stock selling?
Q: Hi 5i Team - In an answer to a recent question re Illumine you mentioned that many other advertising companies are doing better and posting improved guidance. Could you provide the names of a few of these along with what would be your top two or three picks in this field. Thanks.
The price of uranium and subsequently CCJ is on a roll this year. Do you think they both have more room to run and things continue to look rosy for the foreseeable future…or?
Q: Would like to get your view on ETFs that use covered call options to enhance returns. As interest rates plateau and eventually begin to fall is there anything 'in general' that we can expect from these ETFs? Will the share price increase, like bonds, to bring yields more inline with expectations or is the share price more influenced by the underlying share prices of the stocks held in the ETFs?
Q: Hi
I am sorry to have to ask another question about the recent WTS issue of CSU.
I currently own 7 * $100 Unsecured SUB FLTG RT SI with a date of Mar 31 2040 and with a cost of $765 and a MV $955. I also CSU.RT of 40 with MV @ .75 and recently received notification of WTS of 40 at no value. My question is what must I do by Sept 29 if hang onto my current debentures will they lose value ? do I have to do something with the 40 CSU.RT that I have or the 40 WTS just issued. Should I just sell the current debentures on the open market. Totally confused by this despite reading all the recent questions and answers on your website.
Thanks
Kathy
Q: Peter and His Dream Team
In our new world of "Climate Change, Fossil Fuels and Nuclear" does this company have any relevancy? I bought it years ago thinking it had a future. Now I wonder if it is heading for a reverse-split or event Chapter 11...Your assessment and comments please. They are always valuable! Thank you!
Q: I know you're positive on RIO and I'm tempted to buy. But their main game is iron ore, China is their main customer and is not doing that well.
Would you say that the price (undervalued according to Morningstar) largely reflects this?
Thanks jerry
Q: Hi 5i,
I like putting you guys on the spot because I can get objective opinions.
If one wanted to buy and hold either CU or AQN today for an RRSP with no short or medium terms plans to sell (ie collect income and hold for long term). Which one would you buy and what would be your high level reasons? I already own a full postion in BIP for my RRSP but I think another multi-utility might be good to own since they seemed to have depressed prices and very good dividends.
Q: Hi 5i
Each of these stocks represent between 2-3 1/2 % of my
portfolio.
Thinking of boosting some up to between 4 1/2 to 5%.
None are at a loss.
Any thoughts of an order to do this?
Thx
Gerry
Q: Hey 5i ream: Currently down about 14% on tellus.Do not really need a tax loss for this year. Any need to swap for BCE . Proceeds of 2000 shares of tell us would buy me about 800 of BCE but dividend from BCE would give me About 200$ more income. Your take much appreciated. Thanks Larry
