Q: I would appreciate your thoughts on TSXV.AXA as a speculative buy. The company appears to be growing its customer base and the idea of composite pallets for use in the food that can be sanitized repeatedly appears to have merit in terms of reducing the spread of disease. However, the chart over the past year is unappealing and management does not appear to have much of an ownership interest but perhaps I stand to be corrected respecting the latter point.

Q: Ours is a very conservative portfolio, with one third in dividend-paying equities, half of that individual stocks and half no-load funds. The latter's performance doesn't seem to justify the MER's so I would like to reduce, maybe eliminate, that cost, roughly $5,000 per year. Any thoughts you might have on how best to effect that change and what form that should take, eg less funds, more stocks and/or ETF's, will be much appreciated.

Q: Hi, a guest on BNN Market Call tonight, mentioned of another "Short" report out on DH Corp, yesterday. In his words, one should be "fearful" of investing in this stock. He also disclosed that he sold his position after company's recent "horrible" quarter. Have you come across this new "short" report ? Do you find any basis for such strong negative comments ? I have noticed, in past, that sometimes portfolio managers on BNN downplay the stocks, they sold or do not own. I have a full position but may consider adding, if stock gets hit once again. What are your thoughts? Thanks

Q: There was a large trade at the market close yesterday. Assuming it was a fund manager, what is the benefit to both sides of the trade, by doing it on the last day of the month, and does it say anything about the upcoming earnings report?

Q: I have some cash in my account and am thinking of adding to MAL and to XHY. Recent news and performance of MAL has been good, but I am concerned about the effect of US rate increases on XHY. My account is well diversified. I would appreciate your comments on both.

Q: I have reviewed the performance ratios for CXI and find that its operating margin and net margin is not just robust but three to five times greater than its peers, and its ROC about twice other comparables. In other words it appears to be pumping out cash miore or less in line with the cost of visiting one of their kiosks. Should that run in due course to a hefty dividend or are there other potential avenues for what looks to be a very robust income stream???

Q: When Yellen finally pulls the trigger to increase short term interest rates, do you think there may be a short term sympathy sell off of interest sensitive securities in Canada. I'm thinking utilities, telco's and reits may experience a correction in Canada. Do you think this will in fact happen and if so what sectors do you think will be most affected. Other than the lifeco's and banks any other defensive sectors you can suggest? Thanks Peter and team.

Q: Hello to all of you at 5i,
It would seem that the US Fed will very likely raise its overnight rate this summer and there is a strong consensus among pundits that REITs experience quick declines when interest rates rise. How do you feel about Chartwell's vulnerability to that scenario? Is it as interest-rate sensitive as the other, more common types of REITs?
