Q: I have been following this small cap for a few weeks, Market Cap is less than $25million, revenue $4.8mm, Earning .08 per share. Business has some very positive present and future high lights and although their business focus is latin America, just wondering with the influx of refuges to Canada if they may have a niche market.
Just wondering if Peter and your team, have heard any chatter from Bay street, and what your thoughts and opinion might be going forward say for 6-12 months out.
Thanks and Cheers to all of 5i employees during this Festive Season.

Q: Are you familiar with Penske Automotive Group (PAG.US) or Group 1 Automotive Inc (GPI.US)? What would be your opinion?

Currently I do not hold either of the two companies but was considering a purchase of PAG.

Thanks

Stephen

Q: This comp. has incr. it's dividend 2x this yr. by .01 cent each time: PR +300%, ROE minimal ( not making any money or very little), high debt.. I own and have for 6 yr now TRP & ENB and realize that this is not a pipeline company; but, does have a utility component now, I believe. Would I be putting too many eggs in one basket, if I bought this company? What am I missing here because all the number say stay away!!!!

Q: Hello 5i team

I bought KMR in a TFSA for stability & that it paid dividend in KMR shares. I have also owned ENB for a few yrs. I Have read a number of opinions on both from Morningstar analysts & seeking Alpha contributors.

I would like to get some info from your Bloomberg source, an your opinion on the comparison.

1. What are their Debt factors including pfd issues & what is their dbt/Total Cap ratios?

2.What are Cash flow valuations & interest coverage at current prices

It is clear that futures depend on their respective ability to fund capital projects an maintain a decent balance sheet. ENB looks to be stronger than KMI at the moment.I am inclined to hold on to KMI on the basis of its dominant postion in the industry & the non-life threatening size of this investment in my TFSA which offers no tax loss offset.

I will appreciate your opinion as well as the financial metricsyou can supply

Regards Ernie

Q: I am considering adding to my holdings in the following companies, some of which I'm ahead in, and some behind. I'd appreciate your comments on the prospects of these companies over the next year or two. The percentages of my portfolio they account for are indicated, and I'm reasonably balanced as far as sectors are concerned.

DHX.B (1.5%), DH (2%), GIB.A (3%), DSG (3%), GIL (2%)

Thanks for your always excellent advice. Roland

Q: I'm looking at buying 4-5 stocks in the next couple of weeks that might have a nice bounce in the New Year after tax loss selling. Could you please provide a few names that you think might work out well this year. Thanks.

Q: I have almost bought Vermillion several times, but each time I find that the Corrib gas development is "almost ready" to begin production. That's been going on for years and was the situation when BNN interviewed the CEO this past September. Has it finally started to produce, or are they still "almost there", waiting for those last two environmental approvals?

Thanks Roland

Q: My healthcare exposure is very lean with CVS as my only current holding. What names interest you that would warrant further research on my part? It will likely be held in a TFSA. I'm looking for a moderate growth/risk name at this time.
Thanks!

Q: I donate 50% of my CN holdings to a charity which from the looks of things will get less for them than I'd hoped. My initial plan was to buy back the stocks, but I'm wondering, based on some of your recent comments, if I'd be better off buying CP or perhaps another industrial stock. I own some Stantec and Stella Jones, so I'm not totally undiversified in the sector. Many thanks, and in case this is my last before Christmas question, Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Q: I own 1000 shares of capital power cumulative rate reset preference shares series 1 which are down 60 percent. I am being given the option of converting ie to receive one capital power corp floating rate preference share series 2 for each capital powerccorp cumulative rate reset preference share series 1 converted. Shareholders who do not wish to convert their shares to this offer need not submit instructions. So would I be better off converting. I bought these preferred shares not really understanding preferred shares. Lesson learned.

Q: Enbridge took a nasty hit today, down 7%. Any reason for the fall outside general meltdown on price of oil? Good opportunity to pick up some share on the cheap here?

Q: I see your not a fan of Robert Friedland, but he certainly is a deal maker (must be very well connected).
I have been watching Ivanhoe for a long time and picked some up recently. With the deal with Zijin and the Platreef holdings, plus the commodity market being so out of favour I have a hard time seeing how this can't be a good buy over the next couple years.
Your opinion please and thanks for your fabulous service (I'll be a member as long as I'm in the market)

Q: Hi Peter, in O/G we have only Tou. While the small/mid caps may rebound higher on a percentage basis when things turn, it's certain the large caps will be around a long time to come and likely benefit if they buy up smaller/depressed Co's at lower costs. Of the larger caps who do think will fare the best 2-3 years out ? In the shorter term which of the larger caps do you feel has the best current business (inc refining etc) ? Thank you.

Q: I own DR, NWH.UN, CSH.UN, SIA, and a small bit of EXE. I hold them for income. What other names in this sector can you suggest as reasonable additions to the stable. Income is my primary focus, but I am not averse to capital gain as any addition will be in my margin account.

TIA for any suggestions
