Q: Thank you for your recent update on Atlantic Power. The common shares do not provide a good investment opportunity at this time as outlined in your report. My question has to do with the convertible debentures. Below is a comment from quarterly update pertaining to convertible debentures as follows:

Our convertible debentures are currently trading at substantial discounts to par, and repurchases at these levels create value for our common shareholders by reducing our cash interest payments, delevering our balance sheet and improving our debt maturity profile," said James J. Moore, Jr., President & CEO of Atlantic Power.

Based on this comment is it a good time to buy the Atlantic Power Convertible debentures?

Thank you

Q: sog is offering current shareholders to participate in a debenture offering. The way that I read it the proceeds will be used to pay off the Bank lines and the excess will be used to fund operations. The debentures< I assume would be the 1st charge on the assets and would be paid 1st in case of banktruptcy, is this the case? They pay 8% and are convertible into shares at $.09. Seems like the insiders are going to fund the major portion. How do you feel about this Debenture.

Thanks for your thoughts

Q: I've been looking at companies in the groceries line, and am impressed by Metro's ROE of 20% or so. However, on reading your past responses to questions on Metro I see you don't rank it as "best of group". Do you still think Loblaws is better for a medium term hold (or some other, like Dollarama)? I already own ATD.B so that is a consideration, I suppose. Thanks for your always excellent advice.

Q: Dynamic Strategic Yield (1560)
Sentry All Cap Income (recent name change)
YieldPlus Income Trust
Sentry Growth & Income (727)

Hi

I'm 75 and have been living off these since I retired. Over the years they have done well for me.

Recently Sentry Growth (727) cut their dividend by about half. Is it time to get out and look for a better one. I have these with a financial adviser but i don't have a lot of faith in his advice. He wants to sell me products and i don't know enough to know if they are good or bad. I have thought about going on my own but i don't have the knowledge to do it. If i screw it up i'm beat.

I've looked for help but i can't find anyone who wants to bother with under a half million. I'm a truck driver, i don't have that kind of money.

Q: Hi 5i: I've been searching for info on existing North American LNG plants. Three questions (please charge as you see fit): (1) do you know if the US currently have any working export LNG plants? (2) if there are working export plants, which (if any) Canadian companies will be piping gas to them? (3) are there any Canadian companies planning to pipe gas to any US LNG plants that are under development? Many thanks.
