Q: just did a deal with suimitomo for $1 billion for a 13 %interest in a US copper mine.(morenci).
according to the talking heads this deal values copper at a minimum $3 per pound and has moved FCX stock nicely.
my question is with FM. this announcement seems to have moved the stock.would a small position be advisable 1 or 2% As I have learned these stocks move quickly in both directions. If you believe the sky is not falling ,there should be a bid for copper as this deal indicates.
Thx Blake

Q: This news release today sounds good but in the long run what are your thoughts on this company? Thanks
Q: Could you please comment on today's quarterly report. How concerning is the significant increase in the cost of revenue? Thanks.
Q: Many commentators are concerned growth stocks may retreat in the next while taking a back seat to value stocks. Do you agree? Thanks Bill
Q: Hi I am looking to find the latest results from Spin Master. Can you tell me when they report and if they have recently can you comment on it. Can you let me know where you found it as I am having no luck. Thanks
Q: Good morning,
With interest rates currently at very low levels with no sign of going up in a significant manner anytime soon, does a preferred share type ETF or actively managed fund holding mostly reset type preferred have a place in most portfolios. If so, what are your thoughts on PIC.PR.D at this time and can you recommend something else that would be more preferable in this asset class? Thank you

Q: Hi,
I don't day trade or trade. I consider myself a very long term investor. I recently put some fun money to work buying 236 shares of AMBA at a cost of $37.84 I was just hoping to keep it for a quick turnaround. I am been doing a lot of reading up on it and wondering if maybe I should hold it for a while. What are your thoughts on Ambarella long term? Or do you prefer Gopro? AMBA represents a 3.65% of all my investments
Thanks Jimmy

Q: I have been reading some of your readers comments about the installment receipt being offered by AQN. It looked almost too good to be true so I read the press release. The following sentence is from the Press Release: "On the day following the Final Installment Date, the interest rate payable on the Debentures will fall to an annual rate of 0%. "
Thus, isn't this simply a purchase of common shares rather than a real convertible debenture. During the period until the acquisition closes it is a convertible but as soon as the deal closes the holder will get 0% interest and thus would most likely convert into common so that he/she could get the dividend stream....am I missing something?

Q: Looked at the proposed split & wouldn't recommend it. To much questionable noise in the background with Mr. Hudson. Be careful.
Q: STB jumped 9.43 per cent today. What do you think of its results? A buy at these levels?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: I currently have a 3.09% position in Pembina Pipeline (ppl) to compliment a total 2% position in the oil/gas sector divided between Whitecap and Torc Oil.
I'm wondering why such the big discrepancy between the valuations of Pembina vs Inter Pipeline (ipl)?
I'm considering switching out of Pembina to Inter Pipeline for the lower valuation and to boost monthly income. Would you endorse such a move or would you consider it being "too cute" and just stick with Pembina which has outperformed IPL?
Thanks.
John
