Q: I would appreciate your opinion on BK (Canadian Banc Corp Cl.A). I understand you generally don't like split corps. However, I have been a long time holder and have done quite well with it. It is 2.3% of my largest portfolio but a smaller percentage overall. I have not found any previous questions on this company.
Q: Hi Peter and Team,
Could you please comment on Acerus’ Q2 earnings including debt status? Does Acerus need to raise cash to support operation?
Thanks
Victor
Q: Hi I assist our daughter with her Tisa. She has done very well and the account holds AW/BYD/CGX/CSU. There is cash to invest and am wondering about Altagas or ZCL.. Should I worry about interest rate rise risk with ALA? Does ZCL have growth potential and in particular potential to grow its dividend? Thank you, Bill
Q: Hello Peter and Staff
I know you like this company . What I am trying to understand is their risk versus others like IGM or CI where there seems to be concern over the upcoming disclosure rule changes . Is FSZ not also exposed and if less so why?
Thanks for all you do
Dennis
Q: I had planned to sell some or all of my shares of WB, when suddenly, this offer with MTN happened. I have a nice capital gain (222.99%) since buying the shares in 2011. Also nice is the share price increase as a result of the deal announcement. However, the dividend has been flat/no increases since 2011. Questions: Is is in my best interest to wait till the deal goes through and then sell? What happens if I sell now to take advantage of the pop in the WB price?
Q: Please comment on AT earnings.
Also should BOS still be held or sold becuase of the weak results. What would be the expected market reaction tomorrow.
Q: In a previous question I wanted to get back into gold and you recommended Agnico Eagle. Since your initial entry in the balance portfolio the stock nearly doubled. Should one wait for a significant pullback before getting in or are the fundamental robust enough for this stock to continue soaring?
Q: Just an FYI for David. I first bought SYZ in early 2006 At $2.40. I have owned it ever since. I have never had an issue adding to the stock on dips nor an issue selling when I needed to take some off the table.Including the dividends it is probably the best ( most Consistent) ATM I have owned. If 5i likes it chances are strong that it is a winner Thanx Robbie
Q: In order to reduce the correlation of my portfolio to the broader market, I hold a full position in JJG, an ETN that tracks a basket of grain commodity prices. My understanding is that, as an ETN (vs. ETF), its credit quality is only as good as that of Barclays Bank. Since BCS does not appear to be doingwell (esp. post-Brexit), I fear that JJG might be at undue risk.
BCS sponsors a number of different ETNs. Where do these assets rank in the "pecking order" in the event of a "bail-in"-type refinancing of the bank during a 2008-type crisis?
Can you give me your current thoughts on B2 Gold with recent price action and their recent earnings report? I think things are looking quite good and the stock seems to buck gold on down days and run up more than gold price on up days. Today, it has broken through the triple top level it had set a few years ago.
Would love your thoughts. For reference, my portfolio is just about a match for the BE model portfolio and BTO represents approximately 2.4% of my equity holdings. Physical precious metals and stocks make up approximately 10.5% of my total invested assets.
