Q: Hello,
I've been looking for a good Canadian utility stock that has limited exposure to Canadian O&G pipeline exposure (ie. Not TransCanada or Enbridge) and for one that has a great track record of raising its dividend, has some growth and hopefully trading at a reasonable P/E. Algonquin, Emera, and Fortis came to mind. How would you rank these three on those metrics? Also the app I use shows Algonquin as having a very high trailing P/E (35) as compared to the other two showing in the high teens. Is that wrong?
Also would you wait for a bit of a pull back for some of these names and what are there expected forward P/E's.
Thanks a lot!

Q: The last question in your blogs was dated Nov 19, 2015. I am wondering how things look for this company as we enter Q 2, 2016
Q: I've held POW for some time and it seems to be going sideways.
Could suggest a replacement for this one? Many thanks. Bob

Q: Hi 5i staff,
I am contemplating in shorting Directcash as the fundamentals suggest that the stock is due for a correction.
The yield is about 12% and appears to be unsustainable to support the current price.
What are your thoughts and recommendations of such a trade?
Your feedback is kindly appreciated.

Q: From a technical standpoint as per IE,if SYZ breaks out from $9($9.35 high today & also 52 week high),the next resistance is $11.Note your recent positive comments( including its repurchase of 1.4 shares @ av.cost of $6.94 since 7/15 & suggestion that it can be a multi-bagger when probed by National Post in early march-was $8.34 on 3/4 ).Is this a good point to add to my small holdings? Thanks for your usual great services & views.
Q: I noticed Sylogist has a strange looking chart where there is a distinct upward trend from early October. You can almost draw a support line from the lows of about $6. It also hit a new 52 week high today. I'm not sure if this is significant from a technical analysis point of view, or if your team even thinks technicals are worth looking at. Any comments?
Q: I have a half position and my cost was $ 8.71 in US, today up between 4 to 5%. Based on Bloomberg it is a advanced talk merge with Polycom. Based on your previous comment it has a fair amount of debt already. On April 1 a Forida company has a target price of $ 12.57. Should I buy more from here?
Q: Torstar (ts.b) was recommended by a BNN guest at around $6.00 and again this week at around $1.50 and my screen shows a 16% dividend. Is that actually the dividend and do you see growth for this company as they transition from advertising to digital? I look at newspapers as a very tough business to stay competitive but if this one survives, it could be a great investment. Would you buy it and do you think the dividend will be cut (dramatically)?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: I bought BOS in August 2015 and as of today I am down 40%. What's your view on BOS going forward (3 to 5 year time frame)?
Q: 5i mentioned that DSG could be a takeover candidate. What kind of premium could DSG fetch and I know it got tossed from the model portfolio but is it still a good hold for tech ?
Q: Is this stock still worth holding? I have it in my cash and RRSP accounts. I can hold it for 2 - 5 years. Please advise!
Q: Does swapping FM for TRQ makes sense as TRQ has no debt and is
trading at 14X PE?
Cheers, Gord

Q: surge is surging on heavy volume. any news???
Q: I bought this quite recently as its valuation seemed decent and the stock seemed to be firmly in recovery mode. Do your resources indicated why it dropped 14% today? This is not a small cap stock...
Q: What do you think of the news today?
Q: For those of us still invested in Amaya, there's a link between the Panama papers and Bazoov's brother and sister. Another reason to doubt the CEO ethics. Even rich as he is, he risked letting his siblings hide money. The man lacks common sense: http://calvinayre.com/2016/04/05/business/panama-papers-link-amaya-gaming-insider-trading-investigation/
Q: How does the Shoppers deal alter the outlook for SIS? Can you see the stock approaching $8 in the next 18 months assuming slow growth?
Thanks and have a good day.

Q: Even though you have SPB in one of your portfolios, you do not report on the company. What is your opinion of the stock? TD Waterhouse has it on their
