Q: If I sold a covered call for EFN e.g. $16 strike for 10/21 expiry, what happens vis-à-vis the proposed split if it occurs before the expiry date? How would the combined strike price be arrived at? Would you recommend avoiding the unknown and not selling the covered call?

Q: Is there any reason Pure is going down every day? I bought it closer to $7.00. What is the insider ownership and is it cheap at these prices. Thanks.
Q: NYX looks tempting with the recent results and acquisition.
Can you tell me what the insiders have been buying and if you think this company is a good take over candidate?
Would you root for this company?
Any reason why the share price is still weak after stellar results?

Q: Enbridge and TransCanada have both been buyers this year down south. Does consolidation of other Canadian energy infrastructure companies seem likely to happen and if so which ones would be most likely targets to be bought? Decent dividends and a good possability of a takeover seems like a good idea. THANKS
Q: Good morning,
Could you please offer your comments on this ETF and what appears to be its relative under performance. Is this an out of favour investment style that should be bought or an etf to be eliminated?
thanks

Q: I have the (dubious ?) honour of being age 71, and as such I must convert my RRSP into a RRIF by this year-end. I am also aware of a rule that allows me to use my spouse's age (younger) to determine the minimum percentage that must be withdrawn each year. I further understand that the CRA rules do not allow any change once this choice is made.
The minute CRA says there cannot be any changes, a red flag goes up, and I wonder if I am missing something. Do you (or other subscribers) know of any reason why I should re-consider choosing the lower withdrawal rate. Thanks for your great service. T.

Q: Your thoughts on a portfolio in a non registered account consisting simply of these 3 etf's (ZRE,ZPR,ZDV) to hold forever. Dividends received put into VIG.US, I'm 45 years old, I have no mortgage and no debts looking to borrow and bring my accounts to 100k for each of these 3 etf's totalling 300k, in retirement will use only dividends. (This would act as my deferred annuity but I get to keep my money) is my thinking clear?
Q: Hi Peter
I own QSR at lower levels and am considering adding Starbucks with its pullback. They are the kind of companies I like to own with increasing dividends.
However, I have a hard time accepting P/Es in the mid 20s. Morningstar has SBUX with a forward P/E of 25. Still seems expensive even with its pullback. What do you think?
Cheers

Q: will you be doing a review of QST this year? If not is it a hold, or sell?
Thanks

Q: I am looking at my Cons. Disc and my Industrial sectors. I consider MG and BYD.un to be a hybrid between these two sectors, but I am not sure that you would agree. I have full positions in AYA, MG and BYD.UN and half positions in KBL and NFI, having recently sold WSP. I have 3% cash to deploy and I am thinking of adding a pure C. Disc. stock. Would you agree with this and what stocks would you recommend I look at? Thanks for such a great service! I have signed on for my 4th year.
Q: Chesswood has been doing some re-structureing and most recently with the winding down of Windset Capital Corporation. Do you see these recent moves as positives and will there be one time costs that may surprise down the road.
Thanks
John

Q: I have no REITS in my portfolio and since I do my own taxes I like to keep things simple and did read that it better to hold REITS in an RRSP account if you don't want to be bother with return on capital, etc. I am wondering if I have no room in my RRSP would it be okay to put in my TFSA? I am looking at ZRE and XRE which one you prefer and CSH.UN or is just one index fund good enough.
Thanks

Q: My I have your opinion on the proposed merger of Front Street Capital and Aston Hill Financial going forward in light of the new disclosure rules coming into effect?
Q: Good Morning
I have replicated both my RRSP and TFSA accounts to hold many of the holdings in both the Balanced and Growth Portfolios save and except CGI and Cipher. I have reviewed your comments on theses companies but would like some specific advice if you think I should swap these out or continue to hold. I currently hold all your teck recommendations except OTC and have full positions in GUD and SIS
Thank you for your exceptional advice and guidance.
