Q: Do you or any of your readers know if there a free program that can Monitor - Streaming Data for Stocks, Major Indices, Forex, and Commodities. I was using HDVFN, but are unable to use any more. Manuel

Q: This company makes up a very small percentage of an overall balanced portfolio. Last quarter was obviously a mess. Market is pricing in a reduction in the dividend. From it's current valuation, what would you expect the market reaction to be if they reduced their dividend by 50%? Further decline/appreciation or are we now in a basing/trading range for the next few quarters?

Regards,

Robert

Q: Good afternoon,
As part of an overall portfolio, I hold some speculative positions in precious metal stocks. These are somewhat balanced between names like FNV, THO, and PG on the one hand, and smaller and riskier names on the other. In the latter category I do hold some shares of ORG. I believe it is run by the former Red Back team, but would appreciate your views on whether a position should be maintained.
Thank you.

Q: In your April 21st response to a question about CJT, you suggested "keeping an eye on it" as you had some concerns if the economy slows. What exactly should one be keeping an eye on in order to determine a total exit. I bought a small position over 6 years ago at a cost of $6.50 so am happy with the current $31+ price along with receiving a regular dividend. It is now 4.2% of my portfolio. Do you feel this is too high a % and if so, what weighting would you suggest and what would you replace it with ?

Q: In light of your updated report on gamehost would a switch make sense to savaria. I usually try to replace a stock at or around the same price my thinking being that if sis has the potential to move up $2.00 faster than gamehost then I do not risk more money on a small cap stock and can recoup my $2.00 loss on gamehost faster with owning savaria.Does this strategy make any sense? I get they are completely different sectors.

Q: A recent questioner addressed the issue of identifying high growth and high momentum stocks at attractive valuations that remain under the radar but have the potential to become investor and fund manager "favorites".

I am wondering if PIH could be such a stock. With increasing share price and trade volume appreciation, and rising growth in revenues/earnings, but attractive valuation (around 11 trailing P/E), am I wrong in thinking this one could start to gain increasing attention? Does it make sense to average up on a stock like this as I have been doing over the past couple weeks (the full position would be quite a small fraction of my overall portfolio)?

Q: hello 5i:
could you please comment (generally) on the new preferred shares being offered by BEP.UN. Can I purchase these through my online broker ie BMO Investorline or Scotia iTrade? How would these preferreds compare to others being offered at the moment? The reset, pegged to Canadian Treasuries seems like good protection for the investor: is it? Would these be acceptable as the fixed income portion of a diversified portfolio for someone who is (becoming) more risk averse? Held in a TFSA, is the interest taxable or not?
thanks

Q: Good Morning Peter, Ryan, and Team,
Presently I have a full weighting of Parkland Fuel (PKI-TSX) in an income oriented retirement account. Most of the other equity holdings in this account mirror your 5i Income Portfolio. I have been watching Superior Plus (SPB-TSX) for awhile and it appears to have bottomed with energy prices firming a bit. SPB looks to be a cheap stock even with the recent upward move in share price. Do you think owning PKI and SPB in the same income account makes any sense ??? Also if you were to assign a grade to SPB what would it be ??? PKI is presently a "B". Thank you for your sage insights. DL
