Q: Hi 5I
What happens if we do nothing in regards to DCI being sold? If we do nothing(not cast a vote either way-for or against the transaction)do we just receive cash value for shares held and not have shares transferred to the new company if it is approved by the voting shareholders?
Q: Caldwell released their fiscal 2016 results. For several months the stock was declining suggesting a dividend cut and negative outlook going forward. But Management's comments in the earnings release suggest sustainable dividend and profitable growth for fiscal 2017. Why such a disconnect in views to the future?
Q: DBO earnings came out yesterday and they were worse than I expected. Was a negative quarter expected with all the growth or did this catch you off guard as well? What are your thoughts going forward?Down 12% this morning.
Q: Given that this company had a couple of disastrous quarters last December and March, the last two quarters while not great have at least been profitable. What's your opinion of the results posted on Nov 4th and your estimate for share price recovery and the safety of the dividend.
Q: This used to pay high dividends but was recently reduced to 3 cents / quarter and most recently, nil. Business is bad (depending on international trade). However it has been rising strongly in recent days. What do I make of it?
Q: american banking and healthcare are taking off due to the Trump win, would you suggest taking a position via ZUB and ZUH
any other sectors/suggestions?
Thanks Peter
Q: Managing my wife's RRSP. She is 30 years old, but a somewhat conservative investor. I have a position in TD, SLF, NFI after recent pullback ($38), SJ ($42) and BEI ($50). I am looking for another stock to add. With limited funds, it is hard to diversify across all sectors. What stock would you suggest?
Q: Hi 5I
Took your advice and stayed out of the Marijuana business. What a bummer man. It feels like the train left the station and I forgot to get on. (isn't forgetfulness one of the side effects)
Having said that, I get your theory that there is too many unknowns, however, the near sweep of relaxing laws in the US election has me feeling the inevitable will occur in Canada. If you were to bet (I acknowledge its a gamble) on one producer, who would that be?
Q: Other than TransCanada. would Keystone's approval benefit Interpipeline, Pembina, Enbridge and Altagas and, of so, would it be significant. Who else would benefit?
Thanks.
Q: I would appreciate your current views on this stock as a longer term position. I have a 2/3 of a position at the moment and am considering deploying some cash to bring it up to a full position.
