Q: Good Morning 5i
Any thoughts on reason for 20% raise in SP yesterday? Is it connected with pending Matthey deal for future lithium sales? Company building sound business case with Quebec govt grant, First Nations support and rising importance of lithium market to electric auto makers and battery production. Your thoughts appreciated on this green energy stock?

Thank you.

Q: Would you consider auto Canada fairly priced to add to my 2 percent position? With new management in place maybe the bottom is in the stock and it will start to move.

Q: What do you folks think about silver as an investment (hedge) for the next year or two? More percentage upside than gold. Look forward to your thoughts and if you would buy silver, what is the best vehicle to buy some. I am not opposed to buying physical metals.
Thank you

Q: Hello, Many Real estate investment trusts(e.g. IVR)and related ETFs (e.g. REM) distribute ~10 to 12% dividend. This appears very good but may be a high risk investment. What is your opinion about IVR REIT and REM etf?. Which one is better? or may be none?

Thanks

Q: I have held a small position in MNT since 2010. It was suppose to be a little diversification and hopefully protection if the market currencies took a bad dive.

It has not performed well with gold going up. Could you advise why it may be lagging? Is it currency cross winds? Something else?

Keep up the great unbiased work.

Q: Another big announcement for Lingo Media with a global distribution partner. Is this now a reasonable speculative addition to a small cap portfolio? I bought a little after their last announcement and would like to fill the position. I'm assuming these deals could drive substantial sales growth going forward which seemed to be one of your reservations on the stock (~high P/S ratio)
Thanks

Q: Hello Peter and 5i team,
What are your general thoughts on the pipelines at this time. In the past we owned Pembina and Interpipe line. Currently we have Transcanada and a small Enbridge holding. We were thinking of adding to Enbridge but it would mean selling Telus or Bce. What do you think of selling Telus and buying Enbridge. They both have similar dividends and the technicals favour Enbridge.
Your opinions are valued as always.

Q: I am sure that this question has been asked in the past however I cannot seem to locate an appropriate answer. I am wondering what would be considered an acceptable percentage of any one stock in ones portfolio. Most of mine are now 3% and I am starting to think I have too many stocks. Would 5% be the general guideline?

Q: Hello Peter and 5i team!

I am in the process of having my portfolio mirror the 5i Model Portfolio. I currently own Tricon Capital, would it be considered a good substitute for Home Capital Group or would you recommend making the switch? Which one currently has the higher upside potential? The portfolio is held in RRSP/TSFA accounts.

Thanks for the great service!

Q: Hi,

On January 19th you suggested the following US stocks(UTX, SBUX, GOOG, ULTI, CALM, DIS, JNJ, LMT, SIMO, EBIX.) to "Stephen" who was looking to deploy some US cash, and looking for "reasonable risk, decent growth and some divided," Do those still look good to you as I'm looking to add some US exposure in the next couple weeks to compliment my Canadian holdings which follow your Balanced Portfolio.

Thanks!
