Q: What are your thoughts about AQN as a stock. I'm thinking of adding it to my TFSA. I already own FTS, CU and BEP.UN, although they are in my RRIF account. I am currently retired and looking for income. Is there a maximum percent you would recommend for utility stocks?

Q: Hi Peter and Staff
Had a basket of them before the oil crash- sold off BDI, CFW,NAL PD and PHX at bottom to see big pickups in 3 of them . I want to hold small positions in 4 . Assuming oil does not hit above $60 and HWO and FRC are 2 in your view (correct me if wrong ) which other two from BDI,CEU,ESI,NAL,PD,PHX,SVG or TDG
Thanks for all you do
Dennis

Fortis Inc. (FTS)

Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P. (BEP.UN)

Q: Since I last queried about it nearly 5 months ago, has your (negative) opinion changed with respect to CPI Card Group as a good risk/reward speculative investment?
Thanks!

Q: For a person with no bond or preferred share exposure. What would be your top 3 or 4 holdings to add at this time? Keep up the good work, you guys do a great job.
Q: I have bought XUS to benefit from stock growth and to hedge against a drop in the Canadian dollar. It has worked on both counts. I am becoming a little more conservative and wonder if there any similar ETFs on the bond side that are available in Canadian dollars but invest in US bonds.
Q: Hope you've had a good holiday season thus far. Just picked up a copy of money sense and noticed they are recommending Owens Corning as a top buy in the US. I did a quick scan on the company and found the following: valuation looks ok, growth has been good but the consensus going forward doesn't look compelling. They have been paying a dividend and buying back stock but I don't see much in terms of driving up the value going forward. What's your view? Is this company a good investment?
Q: I understand there has been a large infusion of money from Fairfax into Mosaic. What, in your opinion, does this do to the prospects for Mosaic common stock?
Thanks Jim
Thanks Jim
Q: Which stock has the greater upside in your opinion ? Thanks.
Q: Howdy 5i,
Can you please provide Bloomberg estimates for MDA's CF/Share for 2017 & 2018?
Would you have any concern about the business facing protectionist policies from the US with their country's new leadership?
Thank you for your opinion and info?

Q: What would your top three pics be (in order of preference) for 2017 in the each of the Industrial and Materials sectors?
And a Happy New Year to all your team.

Q: Could you provide some insight about BUD, Anheuser-Busch InBev. Why were they dropped so much start from end of October? Was this because of acquisition or bad earning or any other concerns?
Q: It's never easy to find this piece of information or so it seems. Could you advise from your Bloomberg terminal or elsewhere?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: My only energy holdings are equal positions of ALA, ENF and PPL. These total 7% of my equity portfolio and are held in a registered account (RRIF). In your view does this represent an over-concentration in the energy sub-sector, and if so which of the three would you sell? I could sell ENF or PPL at a profit, but would incur a loss by selling ALA. Thank you.
Q: Thoughts on selling BNS at these levels for a cap. gain of $15 ooo, which is/will be offset by cap. losses. It represents 5% of our portfolio & the only Cdn bank we own.
Thanks,
Ted

Q: Hi - I have $34k cash in my account for real estate and am looking to add 2 or 3 residential low-med rent REITS. Can you tell me your favourites that have the lease amount of debt (ie. least affected by increase in interest rates). - I want at least one Canadian, One USA and if there is an international one I will consider it too. - (also is there a place that summarizes REITS somewhere on the web?) - thanks and Happy New Year
Q: Happy New Year Everyone.
How do you feel supply/demand will be in 2017 for the precious metals and lead, zinc, copper, aluminum, nickel and lithium? Have they turned the corner and will the global economy not be disrupted by treats of trade barriers being created and other factors? Thank you, Bob

Q: Earlier today part of your reply to a security question was: "On any account there is, at first, insurance protection through the Canadian Investor Protection Fund, up to $1 million". What is an account? At TD they breakout you account into tfsa, rrsp, us, and Canada. Are these each individual accounts? As well you can have another account number with a similar breakdown. Would that account be covered by a separate $1,000,000 insurance? Would it then be wise to open another account at another broker, if you liquid assets exceed $1,000,000. Thanks, Mark
