Q: Hi, BGC Partners is traded in the US and I've held it for a many years and have been happy with its progress (both stock appreciation and business performance in general). However, lately it has been trading sideways and I'm unsure why this is? Do you see this as a further buying opportunity, or are there warning flags?

On a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being the highest, where would you place BGCP in terms of risk?

Thanks,

Cam

Q: I invested in Posera Ltd. in the summer as a longer term turnaround play and the stock has doubled since. They are now breaking even on Adjusted EBITDA basis and the CEO just bought 787,000 shares at twice my cost base. The Company has about $18 million in annual sales with good prospects of sales growth in 2017. What are your thoughts on this speculative investment? Should I continue to hold?

Q: Q: I plan to have a portfolio which is good for one year, five year and ten or more years. My objective is to have good growth, capital appreciation with moderate risk. Capital preservation over three years in spite of high short-term volatility will be fine. Please tell me what you think of a portfolio I am considering putting together consisting of V-N, UNH-N, WFC-N, NFI-T, FB-O, AMZN-O, GOOGL-O, KXS-T, ENB-T, CN-T, CJT-T, BYD.UN-T. Your thoughts on how this may compare to the BE portfolio performance, volatility, Saftey. Equal weights would be purchased. I invite you to make any changes, additions, deletions? I will appreciate if you place these stocks from high to low priority.
I apologize if I am asking too much. Thank you.

Q: Please comment on the marijuana sector meltdown. Any idea what turned the green momentum into a bloodbath today? Is the speculative money that the fueled the rally all exiting en masse?

There was news that Lowblaws is applying for a license to dispense marijuana. Considering that the crop is almost as easy to grow as tomatoes, would some of the BC based hothouses look to apply for production licenses?

Q: Regarding the question about selecting half of your balanced equity portfolio, you mention ‘confidence ‘ ‘over the long term’ for stock like TOY and CXI over much bigger BNS and T ..
I’m not certain to understand ..do you mean confidence in over-performance over a longer period..at the risk of higher volatilty/risk ? Is it much better to buy the complete portfolio ?
thanks for the good work !
