Q: Hi Peter,
For my RRIF, I want to invest in covered calls ETFs that generate high income with some growth potential for long term hold. Given the current market with possible near term interest rate cut, please share your top four Canadian listed covered call ETFs and top four US listed, with their respective current yield. Thanks.

Q: Hello, what is your opinion about Five Below ?

They plan to achieve 3500 stores by 2030 (in 2023 they opened 205 and plan to open 230 in 2024) and now have 1544 stores and grow sales at around 15% per year.
Easy to understand business model
468 millions in cash and no debt
Francois Rochon of Giverny likes the company (5% of portfolio)
They talk about shrink headwinds (can you explain) and not sure about their moat since a lot of competition in the US.
But the share price has been going down 35% this year.

Thanks

Q: Hi. I’m looking for a Canadian-listed ex-North America equity ETF for a TFSA. And am familiar with the options you usually refer to, such as VIU. My question is whether there are more “actively” managed ETF’s (focused on developed markets) which you would consider. Such as QIE.

A separate related question. Are there U.S.-listed alternatives you would consider, in spite of the withholding tax. And is the withholding tax less of a deterrent than we make it to be.

Thanks.

Q: Hello Peter and team

To complement my all ETFs portfolio : VEQT 40%, QQQ 10%, VGT 10%, MOAT 10%, I intend to add 6 of the above 7 stocks for 5% each.
Does it make sense, please feel free to substitute and suggest other stocks and explain why.
This is for a 10 years hold with minimum or no trading in this account.
Thank you
Raouf

Q: I had asked a question about the 'equalization dividend' for the Enerplus deal. I subsequently spoke with ERF investor services and was informed that the Mar 19 dividend from Chord is not included in the calculation, so the equalization will only be based on the June 5th dividend. The equalization amount will about .233USD and will only be paid to shareholders of record on the date that the deal closes, likely May 31.
