Q: Foraco (FAR) was named as a top pick by Jordan Zinberg on Monday on BNN. Wondering what you think of it. Seems to have decent growth on the top and bottom lines, and pretty cheap valuation, although drillers tend not to get really high multiples. Looks like there was some, let's say "odd", trading going on with the stock today in the last 15 minutes as it suddenly dropped about 15% just before the close and a huge trade went through at the reduced price and a bit of a bounce back. Is FAR better than GEO?

Q: I am thinking of dumping Lightspeed in favour of Galaxy, for a bit more punch in the 2024 portfolio. Your thoughts, please. I've held on for so long with LSPD, but my patience is ebbing, and wondering if I'm just hanging on for "sentimental" reasons, and not for good financial sense. Thanks, as always!

Q: Hello 5i,
I am up 56% to 90% on the MSFT, JPM, MRK,ABBV, AND PEP amongst a few others. It has been said to take profit if a holding is up 30%. I have held these for about 20 years and do not need the funds. Should I realize the 30% profit or let these continue to rise according to your advice of "letting the winners run" before a black swan occurs.

Q: I look after a RESP and have IWO, VGRO, VGG and BN. The weight is 16% for each. Would you be comfortable adding to the ETF'S to a 20% weight or should I buy a ETF like XIC? If you have any suggestions of what I could buy for this account I appreciate your input! It will be 12 years before needed.

Thanks

Q: Greetings 5i,
I am looking to lower my exposure to financials and raise that of consumer staples. This does not have to be done but should result in better diversification.
Would a switch from BAM to NWC, purely for better diversification, be advisable? I note the slightly better yield on NWC.
Thanks as always

Q: Hello 5i,

We have a full position in VGT and 1/2 position in BRK.B in an RRSP and NVDA, AMD, and Google in our TFSA's.

Do you see reduced growth in the VGT & BRK.B ETF's with AAPL downgrades and a possibility of consolidation of MSFT this year after stellar 2023 numbers?

Would you swap VGT or BRK.B to another ETF for 2024 or just let it ride?

Thank you for your advice

Q: Hello, I am helping my 25 year old daughter put together a sleep at night portfolio. She is not a hands on or active investor.

She has about $ 100K and of these selections which ones would you suggest? And, what else would you recommend?
in Addition to Canada, I want US exposure with ZSP, especially with the potential growth of AI.
Thanks
Carlo

Q: I am looking to add exposure to the US market in my TFSA. I currently own ZSP and ZNQ and would like to add an ETF listed on the Cdn exchange that would balance my exposure to the Mag 7. I have seen you recommend EQL which I am considering however is there another ETF that would broaden my exposure beyond the S&P 500. Perhaps to include some mid and small cap stocks?
Also would you expect that mid and small caps will outperform given where we are in the market cycle?
