Q: On Nov 28, a member commented on an scare-mongering article from "Frisco Fastball." Bear in mind that no human being was involved in the creation of this article (or, as far as I can tell, any other from this publisher.) Investors may indeed have sold on jitters, and FF may have been part of that dynamic, but most of its blather is transparently kooky. Smear jobs still need human trolls - at least, they do for now.

Q: Re; $32.00 offering.Time to sell and buy lower later? Thanks
Q: Hello,
If one would like to deploy 50k, should that be across the three Brookfield companies above or would it be better with just one (some of them) or do you have better names in the sector that prefer for a 2-3 years hold?
BIP.un is down a lot today. Any reason for it?
Would you buy now or wait until the new year?
Thanks
M

Q: Comments on Emera's bought deal. Seemed like a really small discount to the previous closing price and the stock is trading below that today. $300 million dollar proceeds are going to be used for general corporate purposes. I don't generally like when companies dilute shareholders for no specific purpose. Is this to reduce debt or just to cover themselves in case their share price decreases substantially in the current environment?
Thanks,
Jason

Q: Good afternoon. I hope everyone is well. I currently hold the stock and I am reviewing my position. I thought their services would be more valuable in this tight economy. Your thoughts on that thesis and your outlook on the company over the next year. Thank you, and my best wishes to all.
Q: The Globe ran a piece on assessing 231 Canadian Corporate Boards of Directors according to 35 criteria. A number of 5i portfolio companies such as SJ, WPK, DHX, ENGH, CSU, KXS, ATD, and PBH were in the bottom ranked third of the list, do you have any comment about that assessment? The way the criteria are structured, it would be easier for larger companies to properly diversify their Boards and get a higher ranking, but I was quite surprised to see names like GWO, OCX and FFH quite close to the bottom. A glaring stat is that only 12% of Board members are women.
Q: While I recognize that GM once filed for bankruptcy, but that's been a while now. The company appears to be in a much better position, made inroads into China, has an incredibly low P/E ratio and pays almost a 4.5% dividend. Would you consider this a good US/Auto/Industrial place to park some funds or is there a better place to go for that type of exposure?

Q: At the recommendations of 5i I purchased these stocks in April/16 for my TFSA account. I have additional funds of $11000 to add. Would you recommend adding to these positions or purchase other stocks? My return has been in excess of 30% and therefore value 5i opinions. Thanks for your excellent service.
Q: It looks to me like Interfor is being sucked down bu the US softwood lumber dispute. However, I understand that it exports very littler for Canada to US, since it produces the vast majorirty of its lumber in the USA!

Q: just a comment on crh, i bought 25000 shares between 6.56 and 7.10 yesterday, i thought the drop was ridiculous since the target was increased from 7.00 to 8.50 by rbc and their return on equity is north of 20 per cent, also i already owned 20,000 shares at prices below 5.00.
furthermore it seems most of the selling was retail investors panicking and selling.
and if it goes lower from here i will buy even more. dave

Q: Could analysts at RBC sold shares and then issue a downgrade, shake out the small investors since most trades are small, and then buy back the shares? In any case who is buying those shares today? Maybe we should not panic here. Thank you for your comment.
Q: This company just listed their downtown Vancouver office building for sale and leaseback. The building purchase for 42 million was viewed poorly by investors at the time, however its listed at 100 million and if sold will net the company a nice profit. Supposedly for shareholder value. Your thoughts?
Q: There are a few Multi-Asset ETF available in USA such as DWIN, PCEF, IYLD, CVY, and GYLD. The Beta of those funds is about 0.50. Do you recommend any of them? Are there any Multi-Asset ETFs that are based in Canada?
