Q: Hi,

Currently managing my parents investments. Apparently they have gotten wind of Bitcoin. They have asked me to take a flyer on some. That being said, if one were to buy it, would you prefer Galaxy?

Secondly, for a retired person's investment strategy, who would like a little tourque in their account, what 3 names would you suggest from either the gorwth or balance portfolio, to add to their account. Note, currently they have the majority of their investments in income related securitiies.

Thx.

Q: Hello,

Alphabet’s cloud business has significantly increased its earnings in recent quarters. Does this indicate that AI technology has substantially boosted the company’s earning power? Additionally, can we say that AI technology is proving to be profitable for other companies as well?

Thanks for your insight.

Q: Why is their Share based compensation (SBC) so impactful and visible in the results? Is it because of the size of the company and revenue? Other companies I am sure has SBC but I rarely see it as a top headline item in earning press release.

Q: Hi gang, first thanks for answering earlier question on Hammond.

My question is if you had a chance to listen on CC this am, and if there were and questions on this SBC impact? It really seams to add volatility to the stock, good results, great share price appreciation, then we get hit with this negative SBC. It looks like they are investing in growth, 20 million to upgrade facilities, but this will come with bigger employee growth.

Thx

Q: Hi Team,
I am a bit perplexed about why the last couple days NVDA has been trending down after earnings releases such as Meta, GOOG, Msft which all seem to show massive spending on AI. You would think this will translate into high demand for NVDA chips which hopefully will bold well for NVDA earnings. Any thoughts on the outlook here for NVDA earnings estimates? I assume the correct answer as usual will be to hold the stock into earnings. I am also surprised Meta and Msft are dropping after great earnings.

Thanks,
Shane.

Q: Hi,
Few weeks ago I bought a small position in TMDX at $130. As the stock got closer to earnings, I sold some naked puts at $105, collected a nice premium and expecting that if it dropped after earnings, I could pick up some more 20% lower which I'm happy to do. With the larger stock drop after earnings down to $85 now, I'm thinking about my options. I'll most likely be assigned the shares at $105, which expire in 2 weeks.

As you have mentioned in many comments, I think these results are temporary headwinds and long term I'm still bullish. I'm tempted to 1) sell another put at around $70-75 and if the stock drops there, I'm happy to buy more. If it rises, I just keep the premium and reduce my cost base. Or 2) I was thinking I could buy the stock here and sell a covered call at around $95-100? Any other ideas you would implement here if this were you? what would YOU do if this were you? Thank you!

Q: My AW.UN shares were exchanged 1:1 for AW Newco.

As this was an "exchange" should my broker be showing a capital gain?

If there is indeed a capital gain what is the share price that should be used?

My broker, TD, has calculated my capital gain based on a share value of $43.08 and used this price as my average cost base for Newco.

How do you suggest I approach TD on this? Is there somewhere where I can conclusively go to get this information to provide them? Banks aren't keen on admitting their errors...

Thanks

Q: In the last decade I have always owned a number of REITS as part of the conservative/dividend portion of my portfolio, but I have gradually sold them off the last few years as interest rates rose and performance tumbled. My question: can you recommend any REITS from across their spectrum that feature a solid dividend - hopefully 4% + - and gradual stock appreciation. I'm not looking for smoke bombs and lasers price appreciation! Thank you.

Q: Record(?) or near-record free cash flow of $760M, $2B in additional buybacks announced. Bought back ~$750M of stock since Feb 2024 (~2% of shares outstanding). Gold currently ~$300/oz higher than their average selling price in Q3 of $2518. Surely slightly higher costs aren't that important in the context of the gold price being so strong and the large buybacks.

The old adage is to date the mining companies and marry the royalty companies. Is now a good entry to start dating Newmont?
