Q: I am thinking of selling GWO and PWF and replacing them with a 50/50 split of ZUB and ZBK. I would appreciate you thoughts.
Thanks.

Q: I've held SGY for a number of years and, as is the case for a lot of oil producers, it was a decent stock until the 2014 collapse in oil prices. It has come back a bit recently but I have a cost base of $6.31. Should I continue to wait patiently for a further recovery in oil prices (perhaps years away) or take the loss and put the proceeds into something else (what?)?

Q: Good morning,

I am managing 2 portfolios, mine and my wife. Both portfolios are oriented toward income but with some growth as well. Both portfolios are diversified and has at least one company in each of the 11 tsx sectors with a total of 20 companies in each portfolios with a 4% to 6% weight in each of the 20 companies.

Both portfolios has a reit, Boardwalk (BEI.UN) and Milestone (MST.UN). The reason that we have invested into these reits is that both has assets in the U.S. and are in family residential.

With the interest rate moving up in the U.S. is time to sell these two reits?

Thank you

Paul P.

Q: Merry Christmas to all at 5I and thanks you for a very productive year, My question involves BEP.un as I am looking to add it to my portfolio on a pullback. I already own ALA and it is at 2.5% of my portfolio. The rest of my portfolio is as close to the Balanced Portfolio as I can get. Could I have your thoughts on this acquisition.

Q: When the conversation turns to money, stocks, real estate sales, inheritances, retirement ,funds, etf's etc., a moderately informed person is invariably asked questions about where would "you" put a large sum such as.. $250,000 and leave it safely parked for the long term and also generate monthly income above bank rates? What do you simply and safely tell your father, uncle, friend, etal? Thank you.

Q: Not a question but a comment. I'm glad to see you are covering CRH Medical now. I had thought about asking the question a while ago, "why shouldn't I own CRH" to get the sell side argument in case I was missing something. But it sounds like you are agreeing that CRH has a bright future. Great growth, mgmt, and their expansion from the Gastro side to anesthesia services was very smart. I find them to be one of the better run companies in my portfolio, so far.

Q: Would appreciate your take on the Tech Sector for 2017. Which of the above do you favour for growth with the most solid fundamentals? Or is there another one you would prefer? Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Q: Hi there, thank you for a great year of service! In the new year I will be rebalancing my portfolio, shifting positions to 4% in each of the Balanced Equity names. This will leave me with 8% left in cash and room for 2 names to make a 25 name portfolio. Which 2 names would you add for balance and growth? I am in my early 30's and have a long term outlook. Thanks again!

Q: I've both CCL.B and ITP and over the years, they have grown quite a bit. I am thinking to trim back to lower their %. Please let me know if both are in about the same business. Which has a better balance sheet (less debt) and more future growth? Which of the two should I trim back or should I sell equal portion of both? Thanks and a merry Xmas to the entire 5i team.

Q: Hi Team,
You've just added CRH to your growth portfolio. I've been tracking it for a while based on your coverage and a friend's position in it. Can you please comment on its risk level? My thought is to possibly move out of Gilead Sciences (GILD) in the US and into CRH. But I am concerned about its valuation after a great year, especially when compared to GILD which has had a very bad year (and may now represent a value opportunity or dead money). I also own Knight (GUD) and iShares Biotech (IBB). Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you. Michael
