Q: I have only about 5% of my portfolio in bonds. I own some VAB, but it is showing negative return of 3 to 5% in two different accounts. I am considering selling this and buying some relatively safe stock like BAM.A or BCe..would you agree with this approach..or is this a time to buy more bonds? Thanks.

Q: Can you comment on High Liner Foods earnings and outlook for 2017.
Q: I recently purchased shares in Ergoresearch a microcap healthcare technology company. What I like about the stock was its value and growth potential. The Company is the late stages of turnaround and in last reported quarter it had good profit and generated lots of cash. The company has paid down almost all of its debt and has over $8 million in cash on hand. Also the Company has been buying back their own stock and insiders own almost 50% of the company. In its outlook Management suggested that revenues should begin to grow again. What are your thoughts?
Q: I know you sold your crystal ball but I would like your opinion
on the possibility of the Bir.pr.a being called this sept. I own quite a few at a much lower price and since it is selling over the 25.00 I may decide to sell if it is to be called.
FYI terms of reset are 5yr boc plus 6.83%
today share price 25.71
thanks

Q: How do you decide when a stock is over-priced? SHOP is trading at some dizzying heights and I am wondering how one decides when it may be fully valued. In the past, for example, you have noted that you have a hard time deciding if Amazon is a worthwhile investment or not due to its stock price.
Appreciate your insight.

Q: I'm looking for a recommendation on a REIT (I have no exposure currently). In light of the interest rate outlook, do you expect these investments to be hit materially as rates rise. What about BEI.... it has been beaten up due to the Alberta exposure. Would this be an opportune time? Appreciate your thoughts and this service. Jim.
Q: I have heard that the recent downturn in price has been due to the "Amazon effect". To which REI has decided to build apartments in some of their properties they acquired to develop malls. Considering that REI.un team is a smart group, it is reasonable to assume that they will succeed in this plan ?, maybe they will have a mishap in their first project (due to inexperience) , but in the long term they will create a stronger company. Then, when is the best time to buy their units ??
Q: Hello,
I bought a sprinkling of TD E funds for my grandchildren. I am wondering if this is a good choice or if there is an alternative. These have been constantly increasing and are dripped.Should I just leave things alone and let them percolate?
thank you

Q: Hi Guys,
How worried will the market be when or "if" Warren Buffet steps away from the company. Will the stock be hit hard? Should I move my funds from BRK.B to either QQQ or SPY. How would you rank the 3 of them.
thanks,
Jim

Q: I own all holdings in the Balanced Equity portfolio except those listed here. Based on current valuations, which of the remaining 7 would you take a position in using cash available in a RRSP as a result of a recent contribution. Time horizon of 5 years+
Q: Hi 5i team. The bulk of our savings is managed professionally and is balanced and diversified (I hope). My spouse and I manage our own TFSA. We would like the TFSAs to have a high growth potential. Currently my porfolio has 15% cash, 8.14% BAD, 5.82% CGX, 4.52% DRT, 4.89% INP, 6.92% GUD, 4.41% MDA, 5.18% NXPI, 17.53% PPL, 7.14% TC and 18.66% BYD
My husband has 24.35% cash, 9.24% ALA, 6.76% CXI, 20.54% CSU, 8.88% GSY, 18.78% KXS and 10.97% WCN.
We would like to have a balanced asset allocation and still keep it high growth.
Please suggest what we should keep, sell and any buy recommendations.
Please deduct as many credits as appropriate.
Also, could you advise how often I should check on my porfolio and rebalance it?

Q: With all these markets at record highs, what do you think about IWO here? I'm thinking of picking some up. What % would you buy here at record highs like this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Q: Endo is still making money but the share price has dropped about 80 percent and they have a high debt load. How aggressively will they persue selling assets to lower the debt load and are repayments in the near future a concern? I do not own Endo but do own Knight and I was a shareholder in Palladin. THANKYOU
Q: Follow the money. The company has been aggressively buying back shares during the past 12 months. Then there is very large insider selling by the the CEO followed by earnings that were poor and the share price is well below where most of the share repurchases occurred. If the company knew they were in a transition year (stated in their q release) and earnings were going to slow or falter should they have been buying shares back at 9-11 bucks? Or waiting till after this weak quarter to buy back shares at much better prices. Looks to me like the CEO is taking care of himself and not acting in our best interest. Your thoughts?
Q: So I am looking at the numbers and BEP.UN seems to have flat to declining revenue and declining FFO/share the last 3 years.
What is it you like about this stock? The growth recently seems pretty flat at best. Am I missing something?

Q: what do you think of this company
would you recommend to sell shopify and use proceeds to buy it

Q: What are your current thoughts about AMD?
Q: Hi team - These two stocks have lagged lately. I am a long term investor, and am more focused on where the price is 5, 10 years from now, not the near or even mid-term noise.
I believe that you see both companies having strong management, but would you have confidence in their balance sheets over the long haul? I would like to add to both positions, but would hold back if you advised against it, or believe we could see the stocks drifting lower to even more attractive prices.
Thanks.
Jim
