Q: Hi5I
We are giving our 3 grandchildren $5000.00 each, so they can each open a TFSA account. Our intention is to give them the same amount for the following three years.
Considering the size of the deposit, and the fees for the accounts, your recommendation on where to open the accounts and what to buy inside the accounts would be greatly appreciated.

Q: Hi,

My wife has $10000 funds available for her TFSA. She's looking to buy RioCan her reason being is it has a good yield and good source for income. Do you any alternatives you think better than this stock that fits for an TFSA account which can give a good yield and the same time growth and stability.

Q: I am curious as to your current thoughts on Red Eagle? Now that they have reached commercial production, their current presentation states that they are trading at 3.1x 2017 Cash Flow, compared to a peer average of 11.6x implying a 73% discount.

Aside from this, they have lots of expansion potential at their current mine, and have three other prospects in the wings with lots of cash. What am I missing?

Q: Hello 5i:
I would like to have a better understanding about market sectors that are benefiting from higher inflation, and sectors that are preferable when inflation is lower than expected. Is it possible to make such a clear cut categorization, and if yes, in which sectors shuld I invest during inflationary and deflationary times?

Q: Good day...I am lucky enough to have a fairly large portfolio that is 70% in your balanced portfolio and 10% in various growth and income stocks you have in the other two portfolios. Q: AFN has been extremely volatile of late, especially today, down mid day approx 3.5% despite a good market day. They just recently announced what appears to be a good acquisition, and they pay a good dividend. Q: I see that Teck is held by a significant number of institutions. This surprises me as it seems to have been a pretty wild ride recently. Is this indicative of this sector? Would most of these companies have a long term hold? Has Teck been an institutional hold for a long time, or just recently? Or how do they make owning Teck work for them? In this sector must one constantly have one eye on the commodity price?
