Q: The contract with Chinese Company was for $ 1,100,000.00 to build 37 lifts. This works out to $ 30,000.00 per lift. Seems cheap to me.Is this a lost leader for future business in China. China will be a huge market for SIS. I really like the deal. Your thoughts please. Sis is projecting revenue growth of 19.1 % and Ebitda growth of 30 %.How much of their production comes from China ? A real winner. Thank you 5I.Bob

Q: I'm trying to get my wife's rrsp some international exposure with an ETF that pays a decent dividend for income.Aside from it's small size[ 11.42 M ] but a nice 6.02% div, is there any down side in your view. If so, your alternatives? It currently has XHY and 22 other income and some growth stocks each about equally weighted.
Secondly, a suggested CDN ETF with US large cap/financial exposure that as pays a 3+ % div.

Q: Hi 5i Team,
I would like to take some money out of a savings account and have it accumulate dividends in my TFSA over a 5 year time period (I will need it at that time). I was wondering in the income portfolio, which of the ETFs/stocks would be the least volatile or the smallest of price movement that pays a good dividend over this amount of time?

Thank you,
Andrew

Q: I noticed insiders are buying. As you have noted people don't buy because they think the stock will go down. My cost is 8.25 and I think I should either sell or buy more. I know averaging up is best but if one does not want to buy more of their stock when it is down then I feel that is a lack of confidence in the company owned and then obviously it should be sold and absorp the lost and move on. Your thoughts please.

Q: I hold smaller positions of the above collection of what I would consider to be "second tier" income stocks in an unregistered account. I also have BIP.UN, CSH.UN and HR.UN in a TFSA. I want to raise a bit of cash before the snow melts; which two or three of these would you sell first?

Thanks for the wonderful service - I've just renewed again!

Q: What was the fundamental reason(s) for Gibson Energy's slow decline to ~ 1/3 its value from sep 2014 to Jan 2016 and are those reasons still true today? It still pays a fairly hefty dividend of ~7% but is it safe and by that I mean is there a danger of the stock taking another relentless dive down?

Q: Hi 5i,great information. Only wish I had found you sooner. I am a 60yr DYI investor, I inherited 100,000 and decided to invest with a CIBC financial advisor in a balanced ETF.
Now seeing your great site I am thinking to move my money, into one of your suggested model portfolio's (save on fees & diversify).
My personal investments are both ETF & stocks I am heavy in financials & precious metals. I have just recently started the google app which is helping me to identify where I am heavily weighted.
What are your thoughts to have mixed investments? Or move ahead doing all investments on my own? Looks like a lot of work to initiate but once engaged perhaps not so much work?

Thanks

What are your thoughts?

Q: Hello,

I am thinking about selling my DOL position and moving into MDA. I have held DOL for a while with no traction. I feel the upside could be $5.00 per share, but the downside could be sizable with any earnings miss, etc. There appears to be better analyst price appreciation with MDA, and with the new acquisition for the imaging company it could play into US defense commencements?? Any comments on this thought process would be great. Thank you.
