Q: Hi Everybody. Just have a question about the US dollar. We currently hold about 35% of our RRSP's in US dollars. Our dollar is currently doing rather well against the green back. I know this is a little out of your expertise but we have some cash on hand. We are fairly well balanced in our TFSA and cash account. We prefer to hold US in our RRSP. Do you think the time is right to increase our US dollar holdings even if it's just cash.

Q: GEI has taken a terrible beating over the past few days. Reason? Hold for income, sell, or add more now? Thanks for your advice. - Ted
Q: Hi 5i, I would appreciate your advise/evaluation of lbs and lcs (Lifeco Split Corp.). Q: Because I cannot contribute new funds to my LIRA, I have a number of high-yield stocks to generate income that can be reinvested in growth. Full position in PDC for diversification and smoothing effect, half position in everything else. How safe are these utility and REITs dividends with 7-9.5 % yields? Alternative suggestions for 10 year plus strategy? (Please deduct as many credits as required)
Q: Now that ENF is at a 52 week low, is it considered a bargain, and decent, safe stock for dividend income, and dividend growth? The yield is now 8.07% with a price of $27.98. Or, can you suggest other stocks with a similar yield?
Q: Is the drop in the price of Paypal on over reaction to the news about eBay? Should we sell or hold steady?
Q: Hi 5i Crew,
I am considering a entry position in CGI Group. I like the sector for future growth and am a believer that "buying at all time high" is a good strategy. My reservation is that it does not generate a dividend. I think if it did, 5i would be more favorable to the company (as I believe you are strong supporters of dividend stocks - for many good reasons). Question. Do you think CGI would consider initiating a dividend in the near term ?

Q: Hi team, what do you think of Paypal's report and the news that it will no longer have the the eBay connection in 2023? Will this be a big impact on the company, time to sell or is this a good opportunity to add on the dip?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: If I buy TD Bank shares in the US (NYSE) and place them in the TD Waterhouse US account. Do I pay the .15% non-resident tax on dividends? Also, when I sell the shares are their currency exchanges between US and Canadian for Tax purposes?
Q: Is this the time to take the profit or should be hold on to.
Q: Can I get your opinion on Gibson , the market does not seem to like the latest corporate plan or is the selling pressure from other market factors.
Thanks Bill
Thanks Bill
Q: I am looking at adding an industrial name in the US. I hold UTX and your 4 Canadian stocks in the balanced portfolio. I was thinking of HXL. Your opinion of this company would be very helpful. Also any better suggestions?
Q: On a business new channel I heard a comment about Utilities NOT being as "safe" an investment as we are generally lead to believe. I didn't quite catch if "safe" was referring to the stock price or the under laying business. You would think the safety of the under laying business would be based on expansion and price they can charge for their product. In terms of the proverbial "Utilities are safe defensive plays" would the stock brokers be referring to share price or the business model?
Q: Good morning 5i I am interested in your thought on Pieridae Energy on the tsxv. Insider buying caught my interest.
thanks,
Bob

Q: With SJ new offering showing as still “open” at rbc, how do the banks clear their bought deal? IE: how do they sell the offering when the market price is below the offer price? Do you think SJ price will recover to yesterday’s price in the next month or so?
Q: Am thinking of adding to DIS and am wondering what the outlook is for the 1/4ly results coming up on the 6th of Feb. I notice a pullback today. Is this a good time to add.
Thanks Jack
Thanks Jack

Q: Hi 5i,
For an RSP focused on growth, which two would you pick for cybersecurity exposure? Or would you pick something else (other than an ETF)?
TIA

Q: Hi 5I
Do you ever think it is a good idea to overweight certain sectors, for example currently, financials. Unbalancing an otherwise normally balanced portfolio?

Q: SALES BY INSIDERS
I have seen some insider selling activity for the above noted companies. A few officers of Enbridge sold over 50,000 shares each in December. As well, I noted a few ALA directors sold over 15,000 shares each last month.
Do you view these insider selling activities as unfavourable?
On the other hand, another Energy company (IPL) had favourable insider selling activity, in my opinion, since there were only buyers and not sellers.
