Q: Thanks to 5i, I've done extremely well with NVDA. After the launch of ChatGPT and seeing Elon Musk mention on X how hard it was to get his hands on NVDA's chips, I increased my exposure to semiconductors. Among the trades I made towards the end of last year was averaging down on UCTT, which was also a favorite of 5i. I already had a partial position and was fortunate to buy more near the bottom of 2023. Recently, however, you seem to have adopted a somewhat negative outlook on the company in your commentaries. I'm relieved to see this stock back above water in my portfolio, now with a decent gain. Is there a specific reason or news for the stock's recent catch-up, and should I continue to hold it, or is it still considered overvalued, suggesting I should take my profits and move on? Thanks, as always.

Q: Hi,

Your answer today on BKCC & BKCL prompted me to compare BKCC with Blackrock BKCL both of which have high dividends….and I still look for sustainable dividends and some growth. As 5i pointed out with BkCC ( usa) it “ tends” to pay a consistent dividend….BUT the share value has dropped from over $16 to about $3.70 today.

1. What is your best guess on the fate of Horizon’s BKCC over the next 5 years?

2. Given that Canadian banks pay consistent dividends and decent dividends….
again best guess…. would buying BNS, CMO, TD, RY, BMO be more likely to provide a better payoff over the same 5 year period.

Thanks.

Q: I have been investigating MELI, and have found it to be an interesting stock to possibly add to my portfolio. Would you consider it to be a quality investment for 3-5+ years? Could you please compare it to AMZN and SHOP? Would it make sense to hold all three, or would there be too much overlap? I understand that MELI has a South American focus, so would MELI’s largest risk be government stability or intervention? Thanks for your assistance.

Q: I Have exposure to all the sectors in TSX index in my non-registered account. All my investments are in Canadian companies except technology and health sector. I chose American equities for health sector because I did not think Canadian sector was true health sector. Instead I bought IBB-Q and VHT-A. What do think of my strategy? What do you think of the ETFs that I have in this health sector? What would be some alternatives?

Q: What would you advise as an optimum allocation of CAD vs US stock now (and the next few years) ? It seems that the US economy is growing and would support more easily higher interest rates than Canada. Also more innovation, productivity.
Thanks !

Q: Hi Team,
I was debating if it was time to trim some NVDA after the big gains the stock has had over the past while. Do you have any quality growth names that would you suggest buying with the funds if I do decide to trim at this point? From my end I was thinking of HPS.A...would this be advisable? Or perhaps ISRG. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Shane.
