Q: Is it a good time to add ? At what price ? Thanks a lot.
Q: Hi, Just to clarify, do you adjust the "purchase/start price" of a stock added during any month while updating the Portfolios. So, the Monthly, YTD and Since inception returns, are based on the Start price or the actual ACB for each such stock, in a portfolio ? ACB of a holding will change with no of shares added and closing price on that day, in order to determine an accurate return. Not sure, if it was only the month of January, as IFC and LMN, which were added during the month, had the same Start price as before. Thank You
Q: Interested in these Canadian small caps. Can you provide quick thoughts on the prospects of these companies knowing the risks of small caps.
Do you know management at all and how would you rate each?
What is in your mind the main reason to invest in each company and the biggest worry for each? (debt, dilution etc)

- Royal Bank of Canada (RY)
- Toronto-Dominion Bank (The) (TD)
- Bank of Nova Scotia (The) (BNS)
- Bank of Montreal (BMO)
Q: We have well-diversified Canadian portfolio (~30 holdings) focused slightly toward growth. Across our various accounts we are overweight in the Financial Services sector. We are considering reducing our holdings in the traditional banks, which are currently roughly equal amounts of TD, BNS, BMO and RY.
Putting aside potential taxation issues, given the choice between reducing all the banks by roughly the same amount or reducing the number of banks to 2 or 3, which would you prefer and why? If it's the latter, which banks would you keep and in what order?
Thanks,
Peter.

Q: This company's shares are trading below their ipo price. Are there any rumours of ruminations that it might go private or get bought out?
Q: Hello,
Total has nearly no debt, have solid revenue growth, FCF yield of 16.7% F24 (37% F25) and have proved that they can make astute acquisitions.
Is there anything not to like with this company other than being a small cap and economically sensitive to the price of oil?
What is your opinion?

Q: I have held a full position in TRI for a short period of time only since Nov. 2020. When I bought it I thought with 3-5 % revenue growth and a growing dividend I would see @ 10% return over time. Since that time it has doubled in share price. Can you help me account for the difference.

Thanks,
Shane.

Q: I have been invested into the two ETF’s: HCAL and HUTS. I understand that this is a leverage play i.e. 25%. What I do not understand is why are the monthly distributions so high? I did the math on both ETF’s added all the yields up added 25% and it should not be yielding at current percentage. This is not a covered call ETF. Is there return on capital? What am I missing here?
