Q: If I was to invest 25K, I would receive approx $105/Mn dividend but the cost would be .72% or $180/Mn. Are my calculations correct and if they are, why would I invest in something that costs me more than I'm paid?

Q: Hi Peter,
Since Covalan Technologies is a small cap, i was thinking of trading it, but it could turn out to be a long term play. With the recent news, the stock jumped to $4.60 but has been going back and forth between 3.90 and 4.60. My average cost is 3.30. In this cases, should one simply trade it or simply hang on for more profits later given the good news release. Any idea why Pengrowth is surging over the last two days. I am not seeing any recent news and if you are able to access the recent releases, can you suggest a link please? Finally, i am thinking of boosting my GUD and BIP.UN to 5% weights which is my max per stock. Any comments. Thanks very much.

Q: Please provide your opinion on TD bank with reference to buying it on the TSX or NYSE. Since I have both a US and Canadian denominated accounts the buy can be made in either account. Is there any advantage to buying in one versus the other? Is the US listing subject to influences relative to all US banks, which currently are seen in a positive perspective with respect to the US Fed intending to raise interest rates? Although the rates are expected to rise in Canada as well, it does not seem to be as important a factor as compared to the US. At current exchange rates there is a difference in the relative value per share as well as a difference in the proximity to the 52 week high. Is there an explanation for this situation and is it significant to making in buy in US or Canada?
Q: Good Day 5I. I`m glad I didn't sell this stock when it dropped down to 10.00 1 month ago. I Know there has been some good news with new contracts and the possible sale of its technology division but does this explain the surge in the past month of over 50%? Are Options Traders Betting on a Big Move in Chicago Bridge & Iron (CBI) Stock?

Q: In resubmitting my question because my browser went cold and not sure my submission went through.
Would you take up a position on equifax today? Smell position, 1.5 % or so? Do you see any merits to this? I'm thinking there could possibly be a sharp partial recovery. Please advise.

Q: Team,
A spike up on the opening of trading this morning! FDA approval for products never a bad thing. Would you indorse a small position? I believe you are considering coverage of the company.
Thanks,
Stephen

Q: This morning I submitted a question on ALA. I had asked if it is a good buy now; it was not clear from your answer if you think ALA is currently a good company - it's stock has been sliding for some time and I know you prefer to see positive stock price momentum.
- Enghouse Systems Limited (ENGH)
- Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (GC)
- Balanced Equity Portfolio (BEPORT)
Q: A few days ago I read you dropped ENGH from your Balanced Equity Portfolio but now I cannot find reference to this on your model portfolio update page. Please remind us of which stock replaced ENGH at what weight and when was the switch made.
Thanks for your response,
Steve

Q: Further to Jean's question today, I am having difficulty in adding the receipts to my watch list. In fact, it will not accept the symbol. Any solution?
Q: Peter; Any news to account for a thin trader like COV's volume today ? Thanks. Rod
Q: Since, you are having a Webinar on Thursday on Money Saver. My question on Money Saver and 5i Research is on the Sell side. I do not remember any recommendations of an outright Sell on any Stock or ETF. There have been between the lines avoid and do not buy, but where have the words for Sell on a lousy Stock or ETF? Herbert

- Enghouse Systems Limited (ENGH)
- Kinaxis Inc. (KXS)
- Open Text Corporation (OTEX)
Q: Would you purchase CSU at the current level to replace ENGH?
As well, is CSU an appropriate addition to my current holdings (OTEX, GIB and KXS)?
Thanks
Sylvain

Q: What are your general thoughts on Sonic Corp, a fast food drive in restaurant company, 3,557 locations in the Southern US. Lots of burgers, hot dogs, etc. I like the space, what are your thoughts? Thank you!
Q: What can you tell me about Ravensource Fund? Thanks!
Q: I am amazed at how closely the D.J.I.A. and the SP 500 track each other.
The stocks in the Dow are picked by editors of the Wall Street Journal and are share price weighted so Proctor & Gamble has 4 times the weighting of GE.
The SP 500 is market cap weighted so Amazon which never makes money has 5 times the weight of Morgan Stanley which made $6 billion last year.
How can you explain this? Thanks
Derek

Q: I'm up about 45% on NYX and thinking of selling now rather than waiting for the deal to close for the sake of an additional 2% or so. I previously owned GUD but sold at a modest profit near $10 (I was one of those bored investors). Thinking of re-buying GUD for a long term hold and would be interested in your view or other best options to deploy the NYX proceeds. My fallback would be simply to top up a few core holdings: TD, T, FTS, SLF.
