Q: Can i have your perspective on the relative merits ( payoff) of private wealth companies like Blackstone, Carlyle Group as opposed to banks in either Canada or the USA such as a BNS or JPM , for example. ie would you expect better performance from the private wealth management or banks.

Thanks

Q: Can you compare/contrast these two businesses for me? Does SMCI order NVDA chips and sell the entire integrated system with chips as well as the infrastructure without chips that customers can plug and play their own NVDA or other chips into? Is SMCI's technology more efficient for thermal management than VRT's? Their growth rates seemed comparable each quarter over the last year. I am wondering if VRT has a good chance to post a nice beat in their upcoming quarter as SMCI did. Thanks

Q: Hi 5i, this is a general question on the big ship S.S. North America.

First what do you consider are the best leading indicators? For example US PPI and Retail Sales are down this week, and the sales are down a lot, not sure if this is seasonal post holiday burn out. Another thing that perplexes me is why housing, both mortgages and rent, aren't backed out of the CPI. If they are then aren't we around 2%. Lastly how come we don't look at GDI more? It seems while GDP , govt and personal spending, is driving this number however GDI is going down. It would also be nice to see real numbers adjusted for the massive immigration, pretty sure they would all be negative.

Q: hello 5i:
The latest news release states that Pembina will not be redeeming these preferreds in the next 5 year period. I don't quite understand the conversion privilege, though, so could you elaborate, in simple English and advise which course you'd take if you held the shares.
thanks

Q: I have quite a bit of cash in GICs & HISAs to invest. I am trying to reconcile buying at the top of the market vs waiting for a drop (which is difficult to time). I do not need the funds in the near future. I am thinking that if I buy now at the top of the market and then the market drops, I can always sell for a capital loss and immediately repurchase a similar ETF that trades in a different index provided the ETF is held in a non-registered account . If I take this course of action, then I would actually be no further behind vs waiting for a market drop (other than the ~4.5 I would get in a GIC or HISA). Is my thinking logical? Am I missing something?

Q: I'd like to increase investments in industrial, consumer discretion and consumer staples and also increase U.S. holdings.
I'm considering Amazon and COST for consumer names - are there other U.S. names you would recommend in these sectors and please suggest a U.S. industrial as well.

Q: I would like to make a small investment in India; now the most populated country on earth. I like ZID that has returned about 81% over the past 5 years, but the market cap is only $122M - is this ETF too small? I like FIH.U with a trailing P/E of 6.23 and market cap of $1.94B, but it has only increased 13% over the past 5 years - can FIH.U only be bought in USD? Would appreciate your thoughts on ZID and FIH.U, or perhaps you have another suggestion regarding investment in India.
Thanks!

Q: I'm evaluating these 4 microcaps, I'd like to add to add a small position in the one that has the most potential for returns. Ignoring the risk of these being very small market caps. Can you rank these in order that you would buy if you were looking for a microcap with big potential? Or if you would avoid any of them all together you can say so. Thx
