Q: 5i has pointed to RPI.un as a way to play the online shopping and package shipping theme. I’ve been very happy with this high-yielding, thin-trading stock since late 2013, but am wondering if there is any particular reason it is up sharply today. I couldn’t find any news and trading volume is not offering any clues.

Thanks for the excellent service and your useful insights.

Q: This list of companies from the Balanced Portfolio were all beaten up a bit last year. Which of these do you now consider buying opportunities? Are any of these on your list to watch & discard if performance doesn't improve? If I were to add some of these to my relatively diverse portfolio, how would you order them in terms of anticipated total returns?

Q: My daughter-in-law has asked me to opine on these 4 holdings (DDD (3D Systems Corp),JCI (Johnson Controls),Adient PLC F and CNDT Conduent Incorporated) she has.She works in tech in San Francisco. I value greatly your views and though you may not cover these equities if you have any insights for her to either buy sell or hold each of these and any other comments regarding these I would greatly appreciate hearing them. Secondly she has a substantial holding of shares in Cisco acquired through employee stock option. What is your view on Cisco regarding buy sell or hold and whether her capital could be better deployed in other tech names. Thank you sincerely.

Q: I keep these three stocks mostly for the dividend (also valuation for XTC), but I also expect stock growth and/or dividend growth. Timeframe up to 5 years. Would you consider theses stocks still interesting for my purpose? In each case, is the dividend safe? Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter and team, I have dgc over a year in my rrsp account , feel very stupid hesitate to sell it .Hoping gold price go up , share price would go up but it’s not, it keeps falling, what’s going on with this company? On September 27, 2017 your answers on dgc had 12 buys, 5 holds and 0 sell. You said as a larger producer it should move nicely if gold does go higher. It is expect to show good earnings growth next year. What are your thoughts on dgc now and do you see any improvement in stock price this year or should I bit the bullet and sell.

Q: In my TFSA I have a 3/4 position in CXI and have held it for a couple of years. Have 1/4 position in PHO. How would you view selling CXI to buy PHO? Sector not an issue and looking for the one with the greatest growth potential. Willing to hang on to CXI if you think it has a future.

Appreciate your insight.

Q: OTEX has been on a downward trend since its high on May 8, 2017. Today @ $41.79 its below SMA (9), (50), and (200). Parabolic SAR (0.01, 0.1) is 41.56 but still showing some upward movement. MACD is trending down, currently 0.3 and below the signal line. The Histogram is below the zero line and trending lower. The Price ROC has trended down from 70+ late in December. Now it's at 0.34%. RSE has followed PROC and has fallen to 43.82 from 70+. What is the cause of this poor performance? Has their marketing strategy tanked? Has the competition found of way of beating them at their own game? Has management tired of doing a good job? Is the company in financial trouble? Is operating cash low? Debt too high? Please give me some reason to hold this stock.
