Q: HELLO Peter, This is more of a comment about the ongoing poor performance of the portfolio. Although we have a higher volatility but not the expected results. With 2% return since inception vs 12% annualized target return, do you think it needs an overhaul? Thanks for your consideration.
Q: Hi,
Peyto seems very attractive from Dividend perspective. would you consider dividend safe? what is the free cash flow and payout ratio?
other than whole sector being down, any reason for recent decline in share price.
Thanks
Q: GUD. At the end of the day, the stock is still pretty low ($7.56). Would you advise letting it run, and await better stock price ? I bought the stock at $10.15. Will it come back at that price, with patience ?
Q: This is a follow up to David’s question(05.12.17). If one sells PEY for a tax loss would you replace with another oil or gas company? If no, why? If yes, which companies (say 2 or 3)?
Thanks, Bryn
Q: Hello Peter and team,
At one point I believe you were considering establishing a Mutual Fund or ETF that includes all of the holdings in your Balanced portfolio. Are you still pursuing this?
Thanks.
Q: Just a comment in reference to Steve's question on December 4th.
One mutual fund that might be comparable to MAW104 is Manulife monthly high income fund managed by Alan Wick. Often rated above MAW in Moneysense's annual ratings. I know a financial advisor who recommends this fund as his 'little old lady' fund, stable and reliable. Do you have an opinion on this fund?
Q: I have subscribed to your ETF web site but do not see any current feed and or Q&A availability? Please explain how one can use it for investors information. Many thanks, J.A.P Burlington
Q: Just following up to my ECN question where I noted the stock has done nothing but go down for weeks now. You noted "It will not be a 'straight up' type of stock, however."
You definitely got that part right as it seems to be a straight down type of stock now.
Hopefully management rolls out their new buy sooner rather than later as this stock is really getting ugly.
Q: I have owned shares in Smart Real estate for many years and still have a profit of 115%. I have a well balanced portfolio. I was wondering if it is worth keeping (considering it has been losing value over the last year) or would it be better to pay the tax and invest in something else? I do not depend on the income. Could you also comment on its last quarter report?
Q: May I get your assessment of MFI at this time. How are it's financials and growth looking after the last quarter's results? The share price has just broken above its 6 month trading range.
Q: I am about to manage my grandkids resp. They have about 52000 to eventually cover the 10 and 6 year old. Monthly contributions of 300 are being made with some "top ups" as available. I would like to have them invest about 20-25% in individual stock or stocks and the balance in ETFS. How should I approach the ETF portion and do you have recommendations?
Bryan
Q: Hi Peter and Team,
