- iShares Russell 2000 Growth ETF (IWO)
- iShares Core S&P/TSX Capped Composite Index ETF (XIC)
- iShares S&P/TSX Canadian Dividend Aristocrats Index ETF (CDZ)
- Vanguard Dividend Appreciation FTF (VIG)
- S&P 500 ETF TRUST ETF (SPY)
- Vanguard Information Technology ETF (VGT)
Q: I am setting up an all ETF portfolio for a 20 yr plus holding period and I have a two-part question. The first part concerns the makeup of the Canadian/US component. Is it better to go with a combination of SPY and XIC or would including CDZ and VIG provide stability and perhaps a bit more growth to the mix (keeping in mind that I intend to hold at least 5% of each but don't need income yet)?
Secondly, I am looking for higher risk assets for my TFSA. I was thinking of IWO. I know that there are specialized sectors I could include but I looking for a fairly hands-off approach. Do you think this approach would serve me well - I know that it is only one asset type - or is there a better mix out there that would still be quite manageable?
Appreciate your insight.

Q: What do you think of this new issue?
Q: Hi and all the best to you for 2018! I hold some ENB.PR.U for income and believe it will stay stable for the foreseeable future as it has fluctuated within a narrow band over the past months. I would be grateful for your thoughts on this however for longer term. Cheers.
Q: Hi Team,
Thanks for your great service. Looking for a recommendation for a growth pick for 2018 to add to my portfolio. Currently from your growth portfolio I hold KXS SHOP GUD. Just recently sold TOY for a nice return. Thanks.

Q: I have a question about LB.
There was an announcement on a bought deal basis an aggregate of 2,282,000 common shares of LB by a syndicate of underwriters. Can you explain what would the implications to the stock and company? Is this a good time for an entry? Thanks.

Q: Hello,
Any thoughts on the weakness in Ichor? Could you please comment on its valuation and growth. Do you still like it as small cap in semiconductor sector? Is this a buying opportunity.
Thanks
Victor

Q: Hi Team,
I hold MFC in my kids RESP. It's up over 75% since I bought it many years ago. It represents 50% of the portfolio now, (enb, fts and bce are the other stocks). I want to switch some things around and add a bit of growth, but with the interest rates rising should I leave it alone ... or do you think a lot of those potential gains from rising rates have already happened?
What would a couple growth ideas be for a 10 year horizon in an RESP?
Thanks!

Q: Gentleman, has your opinion on BlackBerry changed following their recent announcement with Alibaba?
Q: I would like to know if BXE is a good value play as a commodity in the oil and energy sector.
Thank you,
Rob
Thank you,

Q: Like most people, I'm down in the energy sector and not seeing much hope on the horizon. I hold VET, TOU and RRX. With VET I at least have a good dividend while I wait for a recovery but with TOU and RRX there is no dividend. Perhaps you think the other 2 will "bounce back" faster when there is a recovery and are worth holding anyway?
I'm inclined to keep 5% of my portfolio in energy but sell TOU and RRX and put the funds into VET or another dividend producing stock while I wait for the energy sector to recover. Does this seem like a good plan? Would having my energy funds in US companies be better?
If I do this change, do you have suggestions for Canadian or US dividend producing energy stocks? Thanks.
