Q: Hello 5i
The following securities were chosen by an advisor, when we were with a full service broker, and I found no reference in the 5i "Question" section. Could we have your opinion on them, and, as part of a retired investor's portfolio, would you suggest to hold? If not a hold, then suggestions to replace. Thank you, Bill

Q: Hi 5i team,

I currently owned these technology stocks: Shopify, CGI, Kinaxis. I am looking to add Opentext, CSU, or Sylogist. Which two out of these three are your top picks for earnings growth, financial stability and capital gain? Thanks.

Q: Hello team, thought I'd ask my first question before I renew, however first, thank you for the solid advice you provide that helps to quell the fears I have in this market!

What are your feelings on Carl Data Solutions?
Are they joining Johnston Blockchain? Heard about this co. on Mark Bunting's new program, Capital Ideas last Sun. evening.

Thank you all again!

Q: Greetings Peter and Team:
As i understand it real return bonds have three parts ( ie ) an issue price
a stated interest rate and an inflation factor which applies to the last
two. If they are purchased or sold before maturity the loss in the
value of the principal could exceed the inflation gain if interest rises
very much. Hank Cunningham thinks they are dangerous instruments.
Is my understanding correct? They are also very thinly traded at present,
which may change as rates rise. I am interested in USA Tips. Could you
please advise if they are much the same or can be redeemed before
maturity at par because they are treasury bills, or are they essentially
bonds like real return bonds? Also are TIPS readily available or are spreads wide? Please outline the traps with both but mostly TIPS.
Thanks,
BEN

Q: Hi Everybody. Just have a question about the US dollar. We currently hold about 35% of our RRSP's in US dollars. Our dollar is currently doing rather well against the green back. I know this is a little out of your expertise but we have some cash on hand. We are fairly well balanced in our TFSA and cash account. We prefer to hold US in our RRSP. Do you think the time is right to increase our US dollar holdings even if it's just cash.

Q: Because I cannot contribute new funds to my LIRA, I have a number of high-yield stocks to generate income that can be reinvested in growth. Full position in PDC for diversification and smoothing effect, half position in everything else. How safe are these utility and REITs dividends with 7-9.5 % yields? Alternative suggestions for 10 year plus strategy? (Please deduct as many credits as required)

Q: Hi 5i Crew,

I am considering a entry position in CGI Group. I like the sector for future growth and am a believer that "buying at all time high" is a good strategy. My reservation is that it does not generate a dividend. I think if it did, 5i would be more favorable to the company (as I believe you are strong supporters of dividend stocks - for many good reasons). Question. Do you think CGI would consider initiating a dividend in the near term ?
