Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Can you tell how much cash the company will hold after the loans are restructured based on the latest F/S and the latest press release. I have looked at both but don’t understand all the terms they use.

The second part of my question relates to cash flow . It seems to me if they don’t buy anything else they could easily repay the term loans before 2025 . It looks to me that they throw off approx $50m per month prior to interest pmts.
Thanks

Q: I'm looking at two US Energy companies, while 5i is focused on Canadian Securities, may I ask if you'd have a look at these two and give me some thoughts for my consideration.

Thanks in advance

Q: We have a lot of STB, our favorite dividend payer, and are loosing it to the buy out. When is the last xdiv date and the last div payment date? We have held DR for a long time as well and thinking of adding to it with the proceeds. Your thoughts? Any other suggestions? Thanks for your excellent advice. It is much appreciated.

Q: Can I get your thoughts on the finding that it is 13 times more expensive to mine certain metals, copper and gold in this study, from ore than through 'urban mining'. Are there public companies currently doing this in North America? Any that have plans to or are looking into it? Thanks.

Q: Hello 5i team,
Do you give any credence to Z scores? My take is that the values may depend on the sector. For instance in the utilities; AGN, BIP, BEP, EMA all have scores below 1 ranging from .45 to .82 and thus doomed to failure! KWH, SPB ,and VNR ave from 2.02 to 3.53. Thus the sector is all over the place. In what context would these scores be used, if at all?
Thank you

Q: Hi,

My portfolio is a bit light (5.8%) on Industrials than I would like (10%). I currently hold CAE (1.25%), XYL (2.5%) and SIS (2%). For a relatively conservative investor, what would be your top 3 recommendations?

Q: Hi Peter
I currently own both railways. CP does not produce much in the way of a dividend while CN does.
I depend on Dividends for my retirement, and am looking for for cash flow. I notice ALTA Gas pays 9% and has done so for some time. Would it be advisable to sell my CP and buy into ALTA. I currently hold 400 shares of CP and 800 of CN
Thank you
John
