Q: Can you explain a leveraged ETF? If it is a leveraged Dow ETF, Does it hold the 30 DOW companies? or is it doing something different. I see some that attempt to achieve 2x or 3x the Dow Jones Industrial average. From a risk perspective, is it safe to say the at the would come with 2x or 3x the risk as well?
Q: Hi Peter/Ryan,
I bought TSGI at 40 in my RESP account and it is down 20%. I was thinking of buying at current price of about 32 in my TFSA account. However, Scotiaitrade research team rating on TSGI is HOLD (Thomson Reuters, Valueengine). I would appreciate your opinion in terms of should I wait for some good news before I add more money into this stock.
Thanks
Ninad

Q: I currently hold Interpipe and was thinking of switching to Vermillion Energy.
They both pay a good dividend. Looking ahead would you make this move.
Thanks, Mary

Q: I see no one has asked a question about WTER.V or WTER on U.S. market that produces alkaline water. After reading an article about them, on the surface it looks like they have a great future ahead for them. What do think after you have had a chance to analyze this stock? Thanks.

Q: With all the hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding, droughts, etc, etc ,etc. How can insurance companies profit? The Canadian Gov't is taxing everyone to death and there is only so much money left over for average people to carry coverage so something has to give and on top wages are not going up for these people.
I would like your take ion insurance with these obvious conditions.
Thanks, James

Q: With such overwhelmingly negative sentiment driving the stock price down to a multiyear low and a yield that is now over 6%, does it make sense to step in here or this a company to stay away from if you don't own it or sell if you do own it?
Q: Hello 5i.
After the huge drop in LB this year do you think the risk reward is worthwhile yet? That said is it bound to be a tax loss selling candidate or do you think it will already have washed all the sellers out before then?
Thanks TM

Q: WHY DOESN`T SOMEBODY COME IN AND BUY THIS COMPANY? THE SHARES HAVE TUMBLED ABOUT 75 PERCENT AND IF THE LIBRARY HAS VALUE IN THEIR CONTENT THE COST TO ACQUIRE WOULD BE ALMOST IMMATERIAL FOR DISNEY OR NETFLIX. YOUR THOUGHTS AND THANK YOU
Q: Hello, I have received from my online broker the Thomson Reuters' documents to tender my TRI shares. I have hold these shares for many years and I have always been happy with the company's yield and growth . What will happen if I do nothing (do not tender my shares)? Can Thompson Reuters force an investor to sell his shares? Thanks, Gervais
Q: VMD has been very strong after its latest earnings report. You often caution about selling your winners or selling into momentum but I am wondering if, given the history of its predecessor (PHM) and its relatively small size, if its time to sell 1/2 and take some profits. I find buying easy, its knowing when to sell that always messes me up! Help.
Thanks
Scott

Q: Hi Peter/Ryan, what would be your top picks of ETF's (tax efficient ) for non-registered account assuming one falls in higher tax bracket?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: For someone who doesn’t need either income or growth, but would choose income first, what would be the best option between SPB and ALA? Or would a mixture of both be ideal?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Q: I'm considering buying an out of the money call on AEM expiring next Jan. or Feb . As you're aware the stock and call prices are very depressed at this time. If gold prices take of at some point, the calls should do quite well. I now own a small position in GDX at a sizeable loss (20%)

Q: Can you compare EIF vs SPB for a dividend growth investor. They
are similar in some ways but SPB appears to be less volatile and the
better performer recently. Which would you give the nod today?

Q: What would be your suggestion for a 5 yr hold split between the growth/ balanced portfolios with a modest amount of $50,000 . I realized that it is small amount for proper diversification and how many names would be adequate . Thank you !
