Q: This company has a strong technical chart, pays dividend, is slowly diversifying business out of energy sector into modular housing construction, investors
support is seen in present market downturn. Would you agree with me that your decision to discontinue coverage was premature or is a company is removed automatically when rating is cut to C or lower.

Q: 3 stocks you are very familiar with - COV this week went from 5.5 to 8 and back to 5.5. Is this computerized selling? The other two PEO and PHO are down considerably from their highs of all not that long ago. Do you see better days ahead for all of these stocks? They are in your portfolio so I imagine they should come around. Your opinion. Thanks for the service. Dennis

Q: Further to Lance's fine suggestion of using CanadaHelps for excess gains I can add TD's Private Giving Foundation as an alternative I've used since 2007. A twist is that contributions are endowed over a period, usually 10 years, with annual disbursements to chosen charities. Undistributed amounts are invested in TD's conservative mutual funds so some growth can be expected and a legacy is established. You get to name it whatever you wish eg: The Jones Family Foundation. Minimum $10,000. Details:

Q: Good day,

Any thoughts/advice on ALO Fourth Quarter and Full-Year 2017 Operating and Financial Results? Is it currently undervalued and do you know what the NAV is? I have a half position close to $4 as my only gold holding and wondering if I should average down a little?
Thanks!

Q: Hello 5i team,
Craig Machel of Richardson GMP was citing on BNN that CPP had migrated since around 2000 from the 60/40 asset allocation to 35% equity and the rest in hard assets and private loans; in other words, private yielding and defensive strategies and equity growth that is not from indices. He also mentioned that retail investors could have access to such vehicles but, understandingly withheld any specifics.
Could you shed some light on the subject? It would be much appreciated.
Antoine

Q: Hello,

If there is never another new pipeline built in Canada (which I feel is a real possibility), how would you view pipelines companies as long term investments going forward?

Q: Just a followup comment to today's Q&A on Hamilton Capital Global Financials Yield ETF as I am interested in product for the global exposure it provides.

The HFY Fact sheets does have the ETF at 9.1% Canada and it also contains REITS at 6.1% and Insurance at 16%
It trades at 1.4x book, is that a concern and why might there be such a premium?

Thanks,
Craig

Q: Hi, I have recently purchased shares at around $14.50. However, the stock has been dropping consistently. Natural gas has been pretty low. What do you think the outlook for Encana and natural gas is? The ticker symbol is ECA.TO. It is a pretty high beta stock so it moves around quite a bit. Let me know thanks!
