Q: Hi 5i,
Thanks to your recommendation I am currently at a double with gsy. I was looking for your outlook with this company going forward from these levels. I know you have previously said it was still cheap? Do you see the SP continuing to rise nicely over the next 12 months? The main reason I am asking is I am considering trimming my position and buying some CRM (Salesforce). Would you consider this an ok move? Or do you see gsy share price climbing as much or better than CRM possibly will over the next 12 months? Thanks for your opinion.

Q: Dear 5i
It was great seeing you at the Money Show.
I have been a member for 6 months and love your service. I would like clarification on something that I have read regarding very active investment accounts that are TFSAs but perhaps it also applies to RRSPs. Although I am not currently an extremely active investor in terms of number of trades placed, and it doesn't really suit my temperament, I have read that the CRA has designated some of these very active accounts as a "business" and removed the tax shelter from any gains realized within these accounts. What is the actual rule regarding this? What I read was very ambiguous and not quantified. Thanks so much for your help.
Kind regards,
Murray

Q: Good morning...the above mentioned companies represent about 7.8% of my portfolio which consists of 50% balanced portfolio and 50% income portfolio with 3% cash which is enough for a two year income …. I know that you like all of these companies and endorse a 5 year hold on them...in my position would you reduce any of these or wait for the market to rebound...thank you for the great service....gene

Q: Something feels odd in the Canadian markets over the last couple of months. The overall market isn't off much (maybe because of pot stocks), however there has been considerable volatility and a drop in quite a number of BE Portfolio stocks (AEM, CCL, CLS, CSU, MG, PBH, RHT, TOY, TSGI, WEF). Do you think there is some kind of sector rotation going on away from 'growth-type' stocks (concern with valuation levels of stocks that have done well for quite a few years)? Is it just Canada? Or is it just coincidence with a concentrated portfolio? Also, are you any more concerned now that a couple of months ago? Thanks in advance!

Q: A friend of mine advised me to buy CYP.V. Apparently the company has some new development that should really give this stock a lift. What is your opinion of this company? Thank you

Q: We are thinking of moving our US holdings to etf's rather than individual companies. Currently we own some VOO but notice that you recommend SPY often because of its volume and liquidity, i think.

The first question is whether there is a lot of differnece between the two and whether it is worth getting SPY as well as VOO?

Secondly, we notice that the top ten holdings for both etf's contain a lot of FANG stocks. So we were wondering if we needed other etf's to balance this weighting?
Do you think a total market etf like this is enough to cover the US market?
thanks again for great advice

Q: XIC/SPI were 2 suggested ETF funds for a beginner. I'd like your opinion on XSP vs SPY because it is traded in Canadian funds vs U.S. funds. It was suggested that as a beginner I should study the market more and not plunge into U.S. dollar funds a this time. Opinion?
