Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I was talking to my financial advisor about getting into a couple of high dividend securities north of 4% with some growth. They mentioned AW.UN, LIF, CGX, EXE. They said most of them have had a run except for the KEG and they said that one might be the better one. Which ones do you like of this group I have mentioned or are there any that you could recommend?
Thank you, Dennis

Q: Gentleman,
I am looking after my mothers investment account which is currently valued at 400K. She is 75 and does not currently require the funds. I have 40K invested in each of the following ETF's - VFV, XSP, VVL, VGRO, XWD, VEE, XIN and 100K in VBAL and 20K in cash. Would you make any changes to my current ETF allocation? Will also be adding 100-200K to portfolio what would you recommend?
Always appreciate your advice,
Steve

Q: I am looking for a safe investment for a 15 to 20 year period. A kind of investment that I can sort of forget about for 10 to 15 years. I have noticed that gold has gone up 288% in the last 16 years. Would it be a good idea to invest 25 to 30% of my portfolio in gold bouillon for this kind of investment? What about any other precious metals worth looking at?

Q: Thank you very much for your answers and service. You has been helping me in my investment decisions quite a lot.
I have noticed that responses to questions seems to be variable at times. It seems that some answers have a different approach than others. I am not saying that responses have been wrong of conflicting, just different. Different perspectives are indeed helpful, but can also be confusing.

My question is: How many people do you have answering questions? Would it be possible to sign the answers so that we know who is answering? I am sure each person has a slightly different view. All views are valuable, but knowing where the answer is coming from would also be valuable.

Thanks,

Fed

Q: Hi Team,
When I took a position on Google in early 2013, it represented in C$ about 5% of my portfolio. Now with stock price appreciation over the years and a much weaker C$, my GOOGL holding now accounts for 14% of my portfolio.
I would like to get your advice on if I should take some money off the table or just sit tight and hang on to my current position given that my risk tolerance level is high.
Cheers
