Q: How bad is today's (January 22) news release? Will it affect CNR's earnings per share? Is it only a one time item?
Thanks.
John
Thanks.

Q: Do you think we will see significant retraction in this one to the December lows? I don’t know whether to sell it or buy more.
Q: Hi All at 5i! With all the family discord going on with Magna, should I let it go for now, or will this infighting not really effect the company? Cheers, Tamara
Q: I have been recommended this stock by a friend...what do you advise on it's current value...it has had quite a ride with a Beta of over 3.5
Q: Target allocation to Tech is up to 17%. Currently, of that amount, I have V at 34% of the sector [less than 6% of total portfolio], GIB at 22%, and the rest as follows: CSU 8%, MSFT and SHOP at 7% each, DOCU at 5%, leaving about less than 20% for investment [could go to 25% if sell DOCU].
My watchlist is broken down into;
a) Tech equipment: SPLK, SNPS, KEYS, NVDA;
b) software: KXS, TTD, TEAM.
Of course, there are so many others that you have recommended.
So, please advise on narrowing the list - building on my current holdings or otherwise.

Q: Could you please compare numbers on AFlac and Chubb in terms of EPS growth, Dividend growth, and debt levels. Do you have a preference? Also, can you please confirm that US common share dividends received in an RRSP are not subject to withholding tax.
Q: I am looking to better allocate some USD in my RRSP. I currently hold IWO and want to build on this with 3 holdings in strong US growth companies/ industries that are proven capital compounders for the long term. I am considering Google and Mastercard and am looking for one more compliment assuming you like the 2 mentioned. Also would you prefer MA over V? My timeframe is 10 years +
Thank you!
Thank you!
Q: Hi.
How many times do you think the BoC will raise the interest rate in the next two years ? Im asking this because we're renewing our mortgage soon. Im still leaning to take variable which we are in right now. but a bit hesitant due to continuing rise of int rate.Appreciate if you can give me your input on this.

Q: I am thinking of shifting my portfolio to overweight Chinese equities such as Baidu, Ctrip, Iqiyi, NIO, JD.com, BABA, Tencent. I have a very high risk tolerance and these are all long term holds 10+ years if needed. Couple of questions, firstly any red flags in any of these names. Secondly, what do you think of Chinese equities in general? My thesis is that the Chinese market sold off aggressively last year and valuations look cheap. Trade wars seems to have been priced in and if we get some type of deal potential upside there. I know the economy is slowing, but I believe this is priced in also as thats all I hear almost on a daily basis from BNN, Bloomberg, CNBC, etc. Also, the possibility of stimulus and rate cuts seem bullish for the equities. Your thoughts? Thank you.
Q: Hi 5i Team,
I really appreciate the service
I'm looking to add to positions in the above companies this year. In what order would you recommend I fill out these positions?
Thanks

Q: I'm using XIU puts for my CAD portfolio and spy puts for my US portfolio, whenever i feel there is a market risk.
A few weeks ago one of the 5i questions was about XIU short selling for down risk protection.
My US portfolio is $290k. I'm interested in providing protection for70% of my portfolio for the next 6months. I would appreciate your opinion of how you would use the SPY short selling for that.one of the problems that i see is that you tie up too much margin and i use it when i buy risky equities ( like NLY).
Best Regards
Frank

Q: I’m looking to add a 3 positions to this list. I was thinking about bns or slf. Can you give me some other suggestions from the balanced portfolio? This account is 20% of my total investments, and is for medium to long term savings. The rest is in well diversified funds. Thanks.
Q: I receive emails from Contrarian Outlook on a regular basis and read them with interest. This week they’ve offered 8 high yielding US dividend/ income funds with potential upside. Are you familiar with this organization at all? Do you think their picks are valid? Examples: PDI, EOS, CSQ, EVT... I’m not looking for analysis of each fund but rather if you have a general opinion of this firm.
Thanks
Thanks
Q: I’m looking for suggested asset allocation percentages by region. I currently use Canada/US/Foreign/and Emerging Markets

Q: Hello, Which of these consumer staple names would you consider. I was leaning towards MRU as it seems cheaper that than the other two and the Jean Coutou acquisition sets it up for further growth. I already own PBH but thanks to last year my position is much smaller. Thank you. Shyam
Q: Any thoughts on the class action against NVDA?
