Q: Hi,
I'm down 20% on this one in a very short time. Maybe just bad timing.
Has anything changed fundamentally? Why is is dropping so much so fast? Is there any news?
What is your recommendation? Keep holding? Add? or Sell?
Thanks
Q: I want to keep a few thousand dollars for the short term in my US dollar Disnat RRSP account as well as in my unregistered account in US dollars. The return on cash in the accounts is 1.7% at the moment. This is pretty low. Can you suggest an ETF ? What are the pros and the cons? Is there a better way?
Q: As Cerberas is not publicly traded, you may not have much to say but I thought I would ask. I read an article from Forbes, “Cerebras Update: The Wafer Scale Engine 3 Is A Door Opener” detailing their technology. With all of the fever surrounding AI, I found the discussion interesting, albeit over my head.
Any thoughts on their technology and its prospects to be adopted more widely? Any thoughts on weather they might eventually go public? Their web site has a link to a private equity investment for as little as $5000. Is this an option for a regular Joe like me?
Thanks In advance for any insights you very wise folks may have.
Q: Hi,
I have these in about equal weights and have to let one or two of these go. Can you please list them in order of selling first to last if you were in my shoes.
Thanks
Q: Greetings, can you suggest a handful of Canadian names (not financials) that you would consider to have a “margin of safety” right now? I know value ideas aren’t necessarily your investing style, but I don’t want any more money sitting on the sidelines while “waiting for the other shoe to drop”, so looking for something steady with a reasonable dividend that might offer some downside protection. Thank you.
Q: I own WELL and like its potential. One comment over the past few quarters that I've heard by analysts is that stock based compensation (SBC) keeps increasing and is concerning. For its growth profile, is WELL's SBC a concern to you guys? Obviously getting heavily diluted impacts us shareholders. Just wondering at what level this becomes a red flag. Thx
Q: AI is expected to increase data generation requiring "massive increases in bandwidth" [BAC] to transmit that data. Which companies are investable to provide the equipment to handle the data increase. What target buy prices would you advise. Please rank your top 3 ?
Q: Good morning all
TVE has been rising nicely. Do you still see this as a buy, if not is there another oil/energy company you would recommend for growth.
Q: Greetings:
Yesterday, March 25 you gave a good rundown on Tve in answer to a question from Norwood. I bought 1850 shares on March 7, 2023 @ 4.11. The reports by 5i and others at that time were very encouraging, as they are today. It went down and stayed there all year, until very recently. It is cheap compared to some other oil names-- Agree or no?. I am interested in buying more but need your opinion. The other very important matter is from Ink Research who today reports that there is a short squeeze on TVE. Could you please provide the % of shorts? Doesn't it seem odd that there would be a short squeeze. ? If you agree, would it be better to wait until it settles down? I await your valued input. With thanks, Ben.
Q: Hi Folks,
My understanding of Ai is that it requires or will require a lot of energy and storage. Am I correct in stating that? Can you provide me with a few names in each category that you feel would be a good buy today for a long term hold.
Thanks
Q: Regarding Sheldon's question about the drop in GSY on March 25th, a consumer credit lender, CURO Group Holdings, filed for bankruptcy today. There are more details in the press release. CURO now trades for 7 cents, down from $20 two and a half years ago, so it's been a long slide into insolvency, the opposite of GSY, but it makes some people nervous enough to sell.
Q: I am selling BCE for tax purposes and possibly buying it back after 30 days. What would be some possible good replacements in a taxable account for tax efficient income. Healthy, relatively high and safe eligible dividend more important than growth. Irregardless of sector. Stock or etf.
Thank you.
