Q: I am mid 60's retired for 10 years and living off our diminishing nest egg. We each about $20k of room in our TFSA's and my question is. Should we transfer $40k out of an RRSP into our TFSA's at this time. We will need the funds to live on over the next year so given we will have to pay the tax anyway and markets are low at this time when a recovery takes place we may save the tax on any capital gains. sage advice please.

Q: Hi Guys. BNP Paribas
I think its one of Frances largest publicly traded banks. It has a pretty good track record of being profitable, has a pretty broad product line, Insurance, wealth management etc, pays a good dividend, looks reasonably valued.
Would you feel this is a safe investment at this price for a long term hold, and is there a risk of it getting hammered even more like the U.S. banks did in 2008.
thanks Gord

Q: I am looking to, over the next several months re-balance my portfolio. Can you suggest 5 Blue Chip type names from that meet the following criteria. I am not sure if there is a true, generally accepted definition of blue chip (GE anyone?) but I am looking for some reasonable, groiwng yield, good management with a track record, a generally if slowly growing company, a busines that is both established and has a clear viable future.

1. Not resource or oil extraction companies.
2. Not one of the big banks (as I presume they would all make it).
3. No more than 1 utility plesae.

Thank-you very much.

Q: A lot of positives in today's new release for Questor. Notwithstanding the size of the order, but the Company is now selling its clean technology into a new market: Mexico. Also for the first time this order included the power generation component from its Clear Power product line as part of the total solution. What are your thoughts for QST and its stock price going forward?

Q: In the company profile, ERE is noted as being "unincorporated". I am curious if that is significant; for example are their reporting/accounting held to less rigorous scrutiny compared to an "incorporated" company? Also ERE has a +9% dividend but is a new kid on the block - less than a year. The high dividend was there from start. Is this a sign management over reaching - like trying too hard to be noticed? Can ERE maintain it? What is their payout ratio. I have no European exposure, but thinking a small position here is doable...………..Thanks, and all the best in 2019...….Lionel
