Q: What is your view of MUX today, it has not gone up with the recent rally in Gold and Silver. It's still down 24% ( at $2.45) from last year's high of $3.20, while most gold stocks have hit new highs and many have doubled. What do you think is the reason it has not participated in the rally.
Thanks,
George

Q: Hi,

I am working to increase the international diversification of my portfolio. One of the ways I am exploring to do this is by reallocating to Canadian dividend-paying companies that earn their income substantially in other jurisdictions. Would you happen to have any recommendations as to such companies that I could look into? Is there an information source that you can point me to that has an analysis of Canadian companies earning their income in foreign jurisdictions?

Thanks,

Derek

A few names are getting beaten up, which of your balanced or income companies have been beaten down more then they deserve. short term buy opportunity with long term hold (5+ years). Asked a similar question for my un-registered account. This could be almost any of your names except for wsp who I am overweight already.

Q: XMF.PR.B is a preferred split share fund from Quadravest. It invests solely in shares of Manulife . The fund sells at about $5.10 and pays a 7.3% dividend monthly. My understanding is that it has never missed paying the dividend in over 10 years. The fund guarantees to buy back your share at $5.00 on the anniversary date, which is December 1st 2024. It would appear to have bond like characteristics with a high payout. Your input would be appreciated.
