Q: I've read that total market ETF's such as ITOT include a component of unprofitable small caps that can cause a drag on performance. It was recommended instead to go with an S&P 500 ETF suchs as VOO, and supplement this with a mid/small cap ETF that follows an index that screens out low profitability, such as IJS or IUSV. What's your opinion of this strategy?

Q: I have both APHA and OGI. Given the recent drop of APHA and OGI and the short term concensus for APHA, do you think there would be any benefit to selling off APHA and replace it with more OGI since it seems the belief now is that the entire sector got hit because of APHA results?? Would OGI be in a better position to make up the loss than APHA would be??

Q: Yesterday you recommended this company as one of your top midcap industrials in the US. I'm trying to get a handle on why. Not just for this company but as a way of deciding among various factors in making purchases. For example, the Stockcalc report on it says it's 21.6% overvalued. Thompson Reuters report rates it a 4/10. It has a P/E of 41 with a 7% growth rate. On the other hand, this stock has risen 8% in the last week and 15% in the last month so clearly a number of people think it has very good prospects. Why?

Q: Hi Peter and Ryan,
We received the last portion of our funds in cash from Sun Life today. We are a little hesitant to open new equity positions or foray into bonds. The stock analysis highlights that we need to add REITS but that sector seems to be under pressure this week. The risk and payback seems unbalanced everywhere we look today.
As we are into our early 60's we have given thought to placing 40% of our portfolio that arrived as cash into a temporary safe place. If you were to choose today which ETF's are recommended out of CMR, XFR, HFR to place funds for deployment at a later date.
Cheers
Jerry and Debbie
