Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Regarding sector weightings, I have developed a portfolio strategy based on your income and balanced portfolios augmented by other holdings. I have based the overall sector weightings from your recommendations adjusted for my own preferences. It would actually be helpful if you published monthly your weightings (with the obvious warning that investors' preferences my differ). I began moving away from financials and into REITS and Utilities early this year because of my belief in rates are not going much higher. I see you have done this too and it is comforting to know you may have he same idea. We do not have to agree, I just need all the information available to make investment decisions.

Q: In July 2018 you had a b+ rating, hoping for growth in AUM, and possible acquisitions, can you provide current scorecard on these points please? Opinion on sale of Mutual Fund business to Canoe and how that will effect previous points? Your report was accurate forecasting slow and steady and enjoy the dividend, suppose I'm bored and looking for a reason to not bail and look for more capital appreciation when markets are flying.

Q: Hello Peter and Ryan,
We picked up a few shares of BNS on the drop yesterday. After searching for value stocks with a decent dividend we could not find a Utility, Telcom, or Financial stock that was not over-priced with the recent rise. ZUT or VPU also appear to be slightly over-priced for the moment.
If we are looking for value, dividend, and a little down-turn protection which stock is preferred; BCE or CM? Do you have another value stock in any sector that would be preferable to BCE or CM?

Thank you
Debbie and Jerry

Q: Thank you for your answer to my first question. The GC 5yr rate in March 2018 was 2% and the pref. was set at 4.38%. Would you expect the 2023 reset rate to be similarly higher, since the minimum rate is "not less than 80% of 5yr GC yield", which suggests a very low minimum rate assuming rates are are still around 2 to 2.5% - the current GC rate is 2.25%?

Q: In the bank section, BNS has been a favourite of yours along with TD. Over the past couple of years, TD has been a star while BNS languishes. Their latest earnings this morning disappointed. Are you still keen on BNS? Do you still recommend it? If so, on what basis? I know you say banks tend to revert to the mean performance over time but BNS appears to be proving that wrong.
