Q: Could please explain the following statement regarding COTY shares.

Offeror has informed the Company that, including Shares delivered pursuant to notices of guaranteed delivery, the total number of Shares validly tendered into the Offer and timely delivered was 336,614,903. Because the Offer was oversubscribed, the number of Shares purchased from each tendering stockholder has been prorated to limit the aggregate number of Shares purchased to 150,000,000. Offeror has informed the Company that the final proration factor for the Offer is 44.56%.

I tendered my 200 COTY shares to be purchased at $11.65. Does the statement imply that only 44.56% of my shares will be purchased? And should I wait for the tendered shares to be purchased or should I just sell all 200 on the stock exchange? Thanks … Cal

Q: I have done very well with my Blackstone holding in recent months, having bought it in the high-20s. I still think there is upside to the mid-40s, but toying with the idea of taking some profit (maybe selling 30-50%) and buy Boeing with the proceeds. I think Boeing will figure out the 737, and continue to think it is a worthwhile addition as a core US$ large cap holding. Would be curious to hear your views on both names at this stage. Thank you.

Q: From the Globe and Mail: "Trident Exploration Corp. said it ceased operations effective April 30, leaving behind a $329-million bill to clean up 4,700 wells it says are being transferred to the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER)."

There is a problem in Canada with abandoned oil and gas wells and unfunded clean up costs from defunct oil and gas producers. From the press this seems to be a big future liability to the Province and existing companies as well. This would create a massive source of revenue for companies tasked with the clean up job I imagine. Is there an investment thesis here?

Q: I would like to buy some REITs in my RRSP as income-producing assets (keeping them in RRSP so as not to have to track changing ACB resulting from ROC and phantom distributions). Which ones would you recommend?

Q: I need to reduce my tech holdings, especially over the top with SHOP, but not complaining. Would you please give me your best momentum stocks, Canadian or US in any sector other than tech? I can tolerate some risk. Many thanks.

Q: Hello,
what risks, if any, should an investor take into account when purchasing all their ETF's from the same provider? I am talking about the big guys here such as Vanguard or Blackrock. Since the ETF's are broad based there is no issue that I see with a fund manager making investment decision (are hot or cold) and these companies are large and profitable so I don't really see any risks other than general market performance. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Dan
