Q: Reading the first question of the day, you mention Twitter as being cheap at 15X earnings. I am dating myself, but when I began investing 10X was average. What has prompted the change to the present 17X earnings.

Q: Hello 5i,
I am 73 years old, a value investor. Except for Chartwell (bounces around), NFI and Pasons, all the rest are doing well ( not so ZPR, CLF and CBO). I am up $10,000 on many of my 50 equities but these individually are not over 2% of holdings. I do not need the money and see no reason to sell my winners. Thus since there are no losers, as such, to sell and I think I should keep my winners. With all this talk of tax loss selling: do I, at this point, have a dire need for tax loss selling? I do not think so, but then again, that is just me.
Thank you
Stanley

Q: Not really a question but a comment on an earlier question that speculates the NDP will demand changes to capital gains inclusion rate in exchange for supporting the pipeline. I would think the Conservatives will support the pipeline so the government doesn't need a deal with the NDP on that.
Q: In August you comment that CIA has had a good run, lots of cash and expanded earnings. Stock continues to show weakness, wondering if you have any additional update.

- iShares Core S&P 500 Index ETF (CAD-Hedged) (XSP)
- iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV)
Q: ZSP is an unhedged Canadian Dollar ETF. It has not done as well as the US Dollar ETF, symbol IVV.
Why would that be so? Shouldn’t their performance be identical?

Q: Good morning,
This is a follow up to one of my previous questions re: Horizons Total Return Index ETFs and more specifically HXT:CA and HXS:CA that I intended to purchase as long term core investments in my grand childrens' in trust accounts prior to recent proposed changes in the recent federal budget affecting the favourable tax treatment of Horizons Total Return ETFs (No distributions).
It is my understanding that Horizons ETF Management Canada plans to soon (end of Nov 19) restructure HXT-CA and HXS.CA along with several other of their ETFs into Corporate Class funds.
Given that one of the main benefits of Corporate Class funds is its ability to minimize and defer taxes, would you consider these Corporate Class funds and the Horizon Corporate Class funds in particular, to be a suitable long term hold investments for my grand children's non registered in trust accounts and if so would you please provide a few recommendations?
Thank you for thoughts on this.
Francesco

Q: Dear 5I Team:
I hold Visa for wonderful gains of 80%. Lately it's seems to be going sideways a for a bit. I've tried to follow your advice about not selling on momentum and holding for 5 years at least. Does this apply to Visa at them moment. Been fascinated to see how many of my Asian colleagues now using Visa in Thailand, Japan etc whereas 5 years ago, it was only cash when they made purchases. Thx for your advice. Lorraine

Q: Hello 5i Research team,
Would you say the acquisition of Biotoscana reduces the probability of GUD acquiring ENDO in the short term? Would GUD buy all ENDO, or exclusively the equivalent of the former Paladin? What premium or what price would you expect GUD to pay for ENDO if buying the whole company? What would be signs ENDO would be ripe to be saved?
Do you think the acquisition of Biotoscana will shut down Medison for a while? At least until after the next annual meeting, so that a second proxy fight would be avoided in the short term?
Based on the evolution of its stock price since its IPO, Biotoscana seemed not that successful as a stand alone company. What GUD can do to help turn things around / improve operations with such a small GUD team?
Thank you for your collaboration, Eric
