Q: Hi guys,
I was looking at buying some SHOP if the panic continues. While GDP and retail would be hard hit, SHOP presence is mainly online, yet shipping is likely to be impacted perhaps. Do you see them as more or less impacted by the virus than traditional retailers or would there impact be similar to the impact on Amazon?
Thanks,
Jason

Q: Good morning. My question concerns the shut down of the TSX yesterday afternoon. Our CDN platform goes down yet we have some 50 odd CDN stocks trading on multiple platforms that can still be bought or sold. It seems an entire nation of investors and investment professionals are unable to do their respective jobs because our data system is antiquated. Billions of dollars in trades are held up yet stocks with dual listings can be traded. Once again I'm underwhelmed by all things Cdn. The TSX needs to upgrade it's systems. I can see some enterprising lawyers developing a class action lawsuit on behalf of investors and investing professionals who are powerless under these circumstances to do a damn thing in real ttime. Any thoughts or suggestions? David
Q: Could you please give me an update on the financials for this company
Q: Some analysts say that the big integrated US oil companies such as Exxon have been using debt and asset sales to fund the dividend for many years. Exxon doesn't generate enough cash flow to sustain their dividend. Do you agree? How safe is the current dividend?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Could you update your opinion of Velan given that activist investors are at work trying to improve the company, from what I hear? I would probably be looking at a 1-2 year hold in my TFSA.
Q: Your thoughts on their quarter and outlook for a 2-3 year hold.
Thanks

Q: Hello Peter,
Convention says do nothing in a sharp downturn, although this has the potential to be more like 2008, deep recession included.
What would you say if i were to sell some or all of AFN, MX,FLIR, BAC, GH (US),GIL,TD,CCL and SIS? And buy COST, MSFT, AMZN(GOOGL), DSG(add) and NVDA(orQCOM).? The thesis being, that these would do better from where they are now, over the next 2 quarters. Or just sit tight.
Thanks for your advice.
Regards.
P.S. Which would you prefer- AMZN or GOOGL? NVDA or QCOM

Q: Comments on AQN 4th quarter?
Q: I know you don't know where the bottom is in this market meltdown (I wish you did and could tell us - am I the only one owning stocks right now?), but do you have an idea on what the conditions will look like that will stop the meltdown? In your opinion, is this really all corona virus oriented or are there some other forces at play here, and if so what might they be?
Q: Hi 5i team,
Are there US treasury long term bonds etfs traded on TSX that you will recommend? Are these unhedged with similar return to those traded on US exchanges? Thanks.

Q: Hi 5i Team,
I am looking for a recommendation of an ETF to invest in US dividends for a non registered account, trading on the TSX. I would like a combination of dividend growers and some higher dividend names in the fund
Thank you!

Q: I'm going to retire next year and have recently received a inheritance. I have this money in a non registered account. PA is telling me that I need more US and international exposure. I'm looking at ETF's with dividends but being non Canadian holding I will not get the tax credit. Should I still look at dividend ETF's and not worry about the tax? I have a low to median risk for these non Canadian ETF's. I have a diversified group of large cap Canadian stocks to take advantage of the dividend tax credit. Can you give me some names to look at buying?
Thanks Greg
